Can you bring alcohol on royal Caribbean?

Recommended Posts

Are you allowed to bring your own alcohol aboard royal Caribbean? What if you purchase alcohol at a port? Thanks in advance!

The only alcohol you are allowed to bring on is two 750ml bottles of wine, only at initial embarkation. Anything else will be taken from you as you board, and returned at the end of the cruise.

Should note that they "may" be returned. RCI's contract and policy allow for non-allowed alcohol to be confiscated and not returned.

Some people are saying you can not bring any wine on board and others say you can bring 2 bottles. I know Carnival allows 2 bottles but does RCL??

Cleara is correct about the 2 750ml bottles of wine. The policy states "per cabin" and limits it to 750ml bottles, but enforcement has been inconsistent (bottles of 1.5L have been allowed, and each passenger has been allowed the 2 bottles having more than 2 per cabin).

So, we just put the 2 bottles in our carry on bag?

Yes that is the simplest way to do it. You can put them in your checked bags, but then you run the chance of getting called to the naughty room so that they can check they truly are wine.

Bob! You're back!! Hope you had a super time.

Do you know if the removal of the corkage fee is anywhere on the website.... really can't find anything official....

Linda

Old thread. Bobs still on vacation.

From the website,

Q: Does Royal Caribbean charge a corkage fee?

A:

No. Guests wishing to bring personal wine and champagne onboard may do so only on boarding day, limited to two (2) 750 ml bottles per stateroom. No beer or hard liquor may be brought onboard for consumption.

Additional bottles of wine beyond two (2) bottles that are brought onboard or any alcoholic beverages purchased in ports of call or from onboard shops during the cruise vacation will be stored onboard and delivered to guest staterooms on the last day of the sailing.

To be clear - if you show up with other stuff (liquor) on the day of embarkation yeah you may or may not get it back. If you bring back purchases in port they will absolutely 'check' it for you and return it the last night.

I've brought wine many times. No problems. Definitely put it in your carry on.
