San Francisco Pier 27 to SFO

Wondering if taxi are available to take us from the ship to San Francisco airport. What is the approximate cost, or would a car service be a better option? There are 4 of us. Flight is 2 pm so no need to rush. Thanks for any advice.

The airport is about 20 miles from the pier. The fare is about $70 one way. Have you considered a shared van ride or the cruise line transfer with a brief city tour ?

A taxi for 4 would be far cheaper than the cruise line transfer, as well as more convenient. I believe the fare will be more like $50.

Just to be easier on us, we decided to use Princess' transfer to the airport. First time we have tried so we will see. As far as pricing, it isn't that much more if at all if you include tip in a taxi cost. It is $29pp or for us two, only $58 total. Also it looks like the new pier has gotten its act together, but that also was taken into consideration in our decision to use Princess transfer this time.

The OP is talking about 4 people. That would be $116 for Princess transfers, as opposed to $50-70 for a cab, given the info on this thread. That could be 50% or more savings by taking a cab.

I would like to ask a question about debarking in San Francisco. Does Princess offer excursions that day and then take you to the airport.

We have a late flight and this would use up some time and we would not be stuck hauling our luggage around. Thank you.

Do they have van type cabs at the same price? My concern is I am picturing a "regular" cab and thinking no way 5 people(including driver) and all that luggage of 4 Cruising people would fit!!!!
