The Alcoves

I would have a balcony, but they look small, and potentially covered by an overhang, and I'm not looking to be a recluse...just not looking to have to fight for pool chairs or get up early and mark them, and load music and as much commotion as the pool deck.

We had an alcove on the Reflection last summer and loved it. My husband needs to stay out of the sun, and I wanted to sit in the sun, so we were able to move the furniture around so he was in the shade. It was a nice, quiet spot outside for the day. We would definitely book again.

Also, if you reserve an Alcove and it's bad weather, can you get a refund or another day?

DH and I tried the alcoves on our last cruise. We had originally booked a sea day but it was quite windy and the host advised he would not be able to put up the canopy. He offered us the option for a refund or to reschedule. We rescheduled to a port day and were credited the difference between the sea day cost and the port day cost.

Based on our experience, we would not do it again. It wasn't bad, just wasn't enough of a perk to warrant the extra cost.
