Trans from Vancouver to Seattle HELP

We are on RCL getting off ship June 26. We had thought about staying a night in Vancouver (although not necessary as we are spending a day there pre cruise) and taking train on Sat. morning arriving in Seattle at 10:45 and our flight leaves at 4:45pm. Is that too risky to do all that on Saturday?

Would it be better to do some sort of transportation on Friday after debarking ship straight to Seattle and fly home next day? What would be the easiest way to do this.

What would be the best way to get from the train station in Seattle to the airport and how long would it take?

The Sat morning train leaves Vanc at 6:30am and arrives Seattle at 11am. You can't guarantee being off the ship, and to the train station by 6am so that's not a possibility.

You could spend the day in Van and catch the Fri evening train to Seattle. The Seattle train station is about a 20-30 minute cab ride to SeaTac.

Other transfer options are cruiseline, Quick Shuttle (which has one departure per day from the pier to SeaTac) , Bolt Bus. Or if there are more than 2 of you, consider a rental car which can be dropped at SeaTac.

Figure out where you want to be??? Either option would work fine. You will have no issue getting your Seatac flight with using Amtrak, that day. IF you have no mobility limitations AND can pack on the lighter side, you can take the Lightrail, right to Seatac. Take a look at a map, for precise directions.

Simple, also to get the light rail, from the Greyhound bus station.

Quick Shuttle, takes you direct- Canada Place to Seatac.

In Seattle if going directly from the Amtrak train to the airport walk around the corner and take the light rail to the airport. Takes about 25 minutes and only costs a few dollars. Have done it many times. Good luck on your trip.

If I wanted to catch the 7:45 Amtrak train from Seattle, what time would I have to leave SEATAC via the light rail? Or would you not take the chance? Is the light rail dependable?

Depends on what time you need to be at Amtrak.

If your hotel shuttle driver drops you at the airport, it's about a 7-10 minute walk thru the airport garage to the Light Rail Station. The train ride itself takes 30 minutes. When you disembark the Light Rail, another 7-10 minute walk to reach the Amtrak station.

Another option ... contact http://www.flatrateforhire.com $29 for a cab ride door to door.

I'd be leaving at 6am- This is only available M-Sa, NOT available on Sunday. Amtrak stop is University.

That cab sounds like the way to go. Thanks!

Taking the shuttle to Seattle from the cruise terminal is easy. You just walk out, go through Customs and then go to the garage and get on a large bus that will take you to Seattle.

I'd be tempted to do that and enjoy Seattle. You could see as much as you want of Vancouver before the cruise.

This is what we are going to do in June. The cruise gets in Wednesday morning, we will spend the day and night in Vancouver, then take the a.m. train to Seattle. Our flight is in the late afternoon as well.

If you're taking the morning train from Vancouver to get to SEATAC airport, don't get off in Seattle, ride it one more stop past Seattle to Tukwila, 4 miles from SEA airport (vs 15 miles from Seattle King Street). It takes a little longer (as the train sits in SEA for 20 mins), but you will save on your taxi transfer to the airport

Thank you did not realize that so we will be doing that.
