cimarrongirl Posted January 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Considering taking a last minute cruise on Regal Princess, a girls get-a-way. We'd like to go as cheap as we can, but I'm not sure about an inside cabin. The others have cruised having an inside cabin, I have not. I would appreciate your advice and comments on your inside cabin experience. Thank You!
chrysalis Posted January 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2015 never an issue with us, and nice and dark for sleeping.
JF - retired RRT Posted January 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2015 Do it all the time...less $$$ for cabin, more for other stuff:D:D
kendon Posted January 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2015 For me, if it's an inside or nothing...I'll take an inside. Otherwise, often for not much more $, I'd much prefer an outside or balcony.
AKman2495 Posted January 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 23, 2015 AN inside is fine. We always book insides. They are lower cost and that leaves more money for the important stuff....
scienceteacher Posted January 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 23, 2015 We only booked a balcony once. It was nice and we got a lot of perks but I would rather get a cheap room and spend on other things.
Rare geoherb Posted January 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 23, 2015 As long as you're not claustrophobic, an inside is great. It's better to be in an inside cabin than not be able to go on a cruise. Plus generally you'll save a lot of money--and still get to see the same shows, eat in the same dining rooms, etc. It's not like on Cunard (and some Celebrity ships) where there are different dining rooms for the different classes of cabins. Just be sure to look at prices carefully. For our 3-day cruise last month, it was actually $10 cheaper to book a balcony than it was an inside cabin after taking into consideration the different amounts of on-board credit offered ($100 pp for the balcony and $50 pp for the inside). Thrak Posted January 23, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 23, 2015 I've cruised inside, balcony, premium balcony, and obstructed view. They are all great as long as I get to cruise. :)
weinoh49 Posted January 23, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 23, 2015 I have only cruised inside cabins. As far as I am concerned - an outside deck is close enough. Why spend more than you have to. I have never felt deprived. Enjoy your girls cruise.
DrivesLikeMario Posted January 24, 2015 #10 Share Posted January 24, 2015 I've been in insides, outsides, balconies, mini/jr. suites, full suites and grand suites but when I cruise without DH, I go with inside cabins most of the time. I like the economical aspect of them. So nice to have the whole cabin to myself too. If you're going just for fun with the girls, save the money and get a spa treatment instead. ;)
j&tcruiser Posted January 24, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 24, 2015 I would never do an inside room if it was a vacation with my husband. However if it is a girls cruise and you want to save money.....go for it. I have been on 21 cruises and prefer a balcony Sent from my KFTT using Forums mobile app
Cruisin' Chick Posted January 24, 2015 #12 Share Posted January 24, 2015 We've only had insides and OVs. Never felt deprived.
sbflcruiser Posted January 24, 2015 #13 Share Posted January 24, 2015 Like many others have had all kinds of cabins, but more times than not we are in an inside. Love the sideways cabins on the Regal, I think they feel a little roomier. I would rather take a 3 week cruise with an inside than a 1 week in a balcony most of the time. It only takes 5 minutes or so to be out on deck. You could always try it on a short cruise and then you would know if it makes a difference for you.
