Specialty Coffee at Breakfast

you can order specialty coffees in the MDR, but it is safer to order them at cafe Bacio.

On our recent TA, we were quite disappointed to find that the coffee for the specialty coffees was apparently pre-made....perhaps from some sort of expresso mix?...in the elite breakfast. It was far below the quality in cafe bacio where it is made to order. One clue was that the coffee arrived almost immediately after you ordered it...the other, of course, the taste.

This may or may not be the case if you order in the MDR. The specialty coffee in Blu was, as we've always found, very close to cafe bacio.

We normally have a drink pack from a promo and have breakfast in Blu

We always stopped by the coffee shop on the way to Blu to get a Americano. I would pour that coffee into the cup in the restuarant and it would fill it 2 1/2 times. If I ordered it in Blu I would only get 2/5 of what I got in in my to go cup.

Does it matter since I have the drink pack not really except for the wait. If I were to pay for it per cup it would.

You can also get some espresso based coffees at the bar in the buffet, casino bar and I think the sunset bar or one of the bars at the aft.

I must be the only person who thinks the regular coffee on board the ship is terrible...I'm a Dunkin' person not a Starbucks, so ....

no, you are not the only person. I agree with you on the regular coffee, but I think the expresso coffees are pretty good, of course at a price (or free for elite+ or above).

We were on Constellation last week and both commented that the regular coffee was vastly improved since our last Celebrity cruise. It was actually made from ground coffee - I saw some being made and it dripped into insulated containers. These were small enough that the coffee was not standing for hours. I am referring to the coffee stations in the Oceanview, the MDR coffee wasn't great. We asked for cappuccinos in the MDR, and the server disappeared for ages. He said he had to go to Cafe al Baccio to get it. We felt guilty at giving him the extra work and taking him away from serving others, so after that we just went and had our after dinner coffee in the Cafe.

Miched.....what is this promo drink pack you speak of

Schlimazel- since we are on Silhouette this trip (Aqua) what is the story about Oceanview bar Cappuccino and Latte?

If you look now Celbrity's website they are offering a all in promo. Anyone sailing in cc or above gets the drink pack, paid gratuities and OBC.

If you are on the ship just ask at the bar if they make coffee there.

It's probably helpful to call the drink package by it's real name rather than have folks think it's something else/new. This is the classic drink package which is part of the current 1-2-3 promotion. Whether or not you have this "perk" is a function of when you purchased your booking, not on the cabin you have booked...in other words, if you purchase an aqua cabin on most cruises today, it's included, but once the promotion expires and you book the same aqua cabin, it's not part of the aqua package.
