Activity Managers onboard Royal Ships

We JUST got off of our princess cruise to Hawaii and I hope Kevin Tugwell stays with princess FOREVER! ! He was absolutely the best cruise director we have ever experienced and this was our 7th Cruise ! He made our trip . You might have to try princess to see him :D

 

Just to add a little perspective.....Kevin left Royal earlier in 2017. He had been with Royal for about 2 1/2 yrs and loved what he did as part of the cruise director staff, but wanted more. Princess offered him the opportunity to become a CD within his first 6 months with them, so he left Royal to join Princess. He knew that it would take much more time to move up the ladder in Royal to the position of CD....Royals loss was Princess' gain.

 

He was on Indy as part of the CD staff and it was his very very first cruise....and he was great. I am not surprised that he would make a great CD. Glad for him.

****Brilliance OTS – Flavio Maeda is currentlyon. Based on what I have been told he should be there until early February whenCecy del Razo will be joining the ship.

****Empress OTS – Mauricio Diaz is onboard until mid February 2018.

****Enchantment OTS – TT Algon was sighted onthe October 27th Enchantment sailing. We don’t know when the contract started norhow long it is for.

****Explorer OTS – Katy McCullagh is onsince October 6 and probably on until Anys joins the ship on 11/19 until 2/9/18and then she will move to Freedom from 2/11 to 3/17.

****Freedom OTS – AngelleRutten Van Hemert has joined FR as of mid October.

Looking to get verification from a cruiser that she has returned fromvacation.Tino Jacksonhas taken over for Tornado Tanya while she is on vacation. We had a terrific time on Allure. We have sailed with Cruise Director Mitch twice before and he just came back from his own vacation, charged up with energy....Grant Martin is great fun. When they are doing an event together, they have great chemistry. One of the interesting things that happened, was with a young boy who was sailing. He is a budding journalist, actually writes articles for his local paper....and he was 'on assignment' with his pad and pencil...and Mitch did a sketch with him on the morning show. It was great.

Can anyone confirm if Tanya is actually still on the Grandeur? Someone on another social media site said she was leaving after her particular cruise, and I questioned if maybe Tanya meant after this contract... No one seemed to know the answer.

We had a terrific time on Allure. We have sailed with Cruise Director Mitch twice before and he just came back from his own vacation, charged up with energy....Grant Martin is great fun. When they are doing an event together, they have great chemistry. One of the interesting things that happened, was with a young boy who was sailing. He is a budding journalist, actually writes articles for his local paper....and he was 'on assignment' with his pad and pencil...and Mitch did a sketch with him on the morning show. It was great.

We didn't see Mitch much besides Quest and maybe one or two other things but it seemed like we were running into Grant all the time and the energy he brought to everything he did was incredible. He also helped one of my best friends propose to his girlfriend during the 50s/60s party in the promenade and it turned out amazing. I can't recommend him enough!

I can easily see Grant being fully helpful with the proposal......he was looking forward to his vacation that begins 12/10/17 and returning to Allure in February. He was trying to get in some of his own 'vacationing' away from family, which is fun for him.....but he was lots of fun.

We saw Mitch doing his CD stuff.....and he was just returning to Allure and getting back into the massive amount of scheduling that goes on and each CD seems to like things scheduled just a little differently. He hosted a great Love and Marriage and what I like, is that he makes sure everyone is a winner.

He fully understands that the couples whoare doing Love and Marriage, sometimes put themselves into awkward situations with the questions....so each couple get prizes at the end for participating and there is a 'big winner'.

 

Mitch does a good Quest -- worry NOT -- it is not the "John Blair approach"; it was adult fun without being childishly 'dangerous'.
