Alegeeter Posted January 31, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2015 Since CAS offices are open M-F only, is there no way to cancel/rebook a reservation booked through CAS to get the one day sale deal going on now? We are 4 people booked for an Alaska sailing in may that is KSF now, it would be nice to get the cheaper rate AND the UDP.
rvsullivan Posted January 31, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2015 (edited) CAS is acting as a travel agent in this case and you have to book through them. This is one of the times that not booking with NCL directly can have a negative affect. Sorry. You could try calling but I don't think NCL is allowed to change/modify CAS bookings. The good news is you still get a free cruise!!! Edited January 31, 2015 by rvsullivan

One of the 'bummers' of booking through CAS if a good sale/promo starts or is on a Saturday or Sunday. However, you're still getting a free cruise! I'd call on Monday as rumor has it the 3-8 passengers sail free of 50% off goes through the month of February. Harriet

That's what I was afraid of not being able to change, but I figured I'd call the CAS certificate award reservation line. They said they were able to do it for me! I was expecting $0 refunded since CAS was closed. I was hoping for $500 refunded (for the 3rd/4th guest rate) I GOT $950 refunded because apparently the base price went down too! All this AND we kept UDP! NCL customer service does it again. For all CAS cruises, I recommend calling the certificate line today if you were hoping for changes! Alegeeter Posted January 31, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted January 31, 2015 I hope they were able to help you! I don't know if sharing the number is allowed but you can find it at the Casinos at Sea website for anyone else who may want to adjust their sailings to reflect today's promotion. It doesn't sound like it can get much better than Freestyle Choice AND KSF.

I was just about to post to tell you to call the other CAS line, and I am glad to see that you had already done so! I tried the same this morning, got a $400 price drop, kept our OBC, and kept our cabin. I am still doing the happy dance :D. So nice to see that it worked out for you, too! Alegeeter Posted January 31, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted January 31, 2015 Wow, I guess I'm lucky I called when I looked at prices this morning: 10:30, right when they open!
3DBeach Posted January 31, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 31, 2015 It probably isn't much advice since they'll be closing soon but if you booked based on "your play" they can't help you until Monday. An hour and 20 mins on hold to find out. Oh well I'll call again Monday. Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

hpecorari Posted February 1, 2015 #13 Share Posted February 1, 2015 I heard CAS was open on saturday for a few hours Yes but there is two different CAS numbers. One for comped cruises depending on your recent cruises and play....and they are closed Saturday and Sunday. The other CAS number is for certificates or discounts and they are open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Harriet

I booked based on my play and they helped me just fine and were more than gracious to do so. I would recommend trying tomorrow at 10:30 right when they open. I had no wait, and hopefully you'll get a different representative who will take care of you.

You had a room with a 20% discount through CAS.......probably with your play via your TR card or with your play through a previous cruise. Still, it wasn't a comped cabin therefore the number you called was able to help you. Those of us with a comped room through CAS they can't help and must call Monday. As I stated before, there are two different numbers for CAS and those with a comped room can only call CAS M-F. Harriet
Rebels82 Posted February 1, 2015 #16 Share Posted February 1, 2015 I have a 20% discount but have paid my final payment. My base rate has gone down. Will I be able to get a refund even though I have made my final payment? Thanks.
Alegeeter Posted February 1, 2015 Author #17 Share Posted February 1, 2015 Also, 3DBeach, did you try explaining that you can't wait until Monday because the special promotion will have ended? They're the only people wh can hep you with FC and KSF. I have a 20% discount but have paid my final payment. My base rate has gone down. Will I be able to get a refund even though I have made my final payment? Thanks. No, you are only able to make adjustments to your booking before final payment. You may, however, be able to upgrade your cabin if a high category is available at the price you paid. Do note, though, that some promotions are for new bookings only so NCL or CAS are not required to upgrade you even if what you see is lower online. It might be lower because of the promotions they're running and could go back up after.

I guess we don't know whether it's comped or a percentage off. Either way, I would try again and try to push. When I first called I was told they wouldn't help me because I would have to go through the M-F line. After explaining how the promotion (at the time) was "Saturday only" she spoke a supervisor and they came back able to help.
Odesitka70 Posted February 2, 2015 #20 Share Posted February 2, 2015 For those of you, who were booked through the cas. Couple of weeks ago I booked the cruise on BA for August 2015. First and second guest were comped and 3rd $1124, plus we got UBP with it. As most of you already know casino department close on weekends, so wasn't able to go trough my host. Didn't want to wait till Monday and loose the deal, so yesterday I waited on the phone for 2 hours just to hear "sorry, there's nothing we can do since you are booked through casino. Call back Monday and see what can be done". Ok so that was yesterday. Didn't get too upset since my cruise was already comped. Today after reading lots of cc post I figure let me try it again. Have nothing to loose. Right. Call back today. Waited on the line for 1 hour and 10 min before someone pick up. Ask the same thing as yesterday and 15 min later with no problem or argument had price for 3 rd guest adjusted to a current rate. Safe $150 and was able to keep UBP. Very happy now! So, what I am trying to get out of this story, don't give up. If it doesn't work the first time, just try again.

luv2cruise523 Posted February 2, 2015 #22 Share Posted February 2, 2015 Ok, just got off the phone with CAS. I said "we have a cruise booked for November on the Sprit and I see that NCL has 3-8th passenger sail free, can you adjust our reservation please?" CAS Rep Alan "one moment please" on hold 2 mins......."Ok, your all set I will send an updated confirmation to email...... now you did have to forfeit the $25 OBC..Chuckle..however you saved $400 on the cabin". Thank you NCL & CAS!
Rare conandrob240 Posted February 2, 2015 #23 Share Posted February 2, 2015 That's great but the issue was that deal was even sweeter yesterday when many (most) could not contact a CAS representative. Are you saying you retained the free beverage package and got them to adjust/ add the KSF pricing?
Rare conandrob240 Posted February 2, 2015 #24 Share Posted February 2, 2015 I guess the question is, will CAS honor the bookings I made yesterday because I couldn't reach them by applying my discount?
Odesitka70 Posted February 2, 2015 #25 Share Posted February 2, 2015 Yes the whole reason I posted yesterday was to let people know that it can be done. Am I glad I did what I did yesterday. Check again this morning and not only you can only choose one of the 4, but also the price for 3rd had gone up to $1599 and there's no ksf or 50% available for my sailing.
