Crablegs77 Posted February 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2015 We haven't cruised in almost 10 yrs. Trying to read and get caught up on everything in cruising. We have never cruised with Celebrity. Received a txt telling us we had a boarding time.(no clue they did this) After flying all night we already have a town car to take us to the pier at 11:30. What now? I did not confirm the txt. Thank you!
az_tchr Posted February 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2015 This so you will not wait in a long line at the pier. You canot confirm anything to Celebrity. It is a SUGGESTED time of arrival. If everyone arrived at the same time the wait to board would run into the 2 hour area. If you are Elite or above in captains club you will board very quickly. If not you will simply have a wait. A comment and thought - Do not know where Snyder is, but flying in the night before is usually more restful - Springhill Suites has free shuttle to hotel and pier for example - and if you have issues with a delayed or cancelled flight you will not miss your cruise. Please take this as a positive suggestion for the future.
Orator Posted February 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Had the same for 2 Sillhoutte cruises in January.Appeared that people showed upas usual and were not denied boarding because they were too early. Crablegs77 Posted February 6, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted February 6, 2015 Thank you to everyone for the quick response. Sailing tomorrow Feb 7th on the Celebrity Constellation.
sprockie Posted February 6, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2015 We just got off the Constellation on Monday morning. Customs was delayed and we didn't get off until well after 10 - and there were many to be called after us. I would expect that the following group was delayed more than usual. You never can tell how speedily you'll be able to board I guess.
Rare Host Anne Posted February 6, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2015 Crablegs ~ While it's true you can never know for sure when boarding will begin, you aren't going to have to wait if you are earlier than the "suggested" time once they do begin actual boarding. Constellation is a great ship with a great crew. Enjoy your cruise!
