Updates on time change experiences?

Any updates from people from east coast and Texas on how the cruiselines handled the time change? Did everyone stay on ship time ie home port?

Last week out of Galveston we went forward an hour the first (Sunday) night and back an hour on the last (Saturday) night.

I was on Royal Caribbean Navigator out of Galveston Feb. 8-15, and we did not change to port time in Cozumel. It effectively cheated us out of an hour at port and I was very disappointed!

 

We were docked in Cozumel for 8 hours as scheduled, but instead of being 7:00 - 5:00 (which was Cozumel time and what had been posted for our cruise), it was effectively 6:00 - 4:00 ship time, which meant that all-aboard time was 3:30. Gee, that extra hour from 6:00 - 7:00 am was so useful - thanks RC! So much better than an extra hour at 3:30 - 4:30 that we could have spent snorkelling at the beach. :rolleyes:

 

I'd made plans for a private driver starting at 8:30 expecting to be back to the ship at 4:00 with 30 minutes to spare, but instead had to cut it an hour short in the afternoon. It wouldn't have mattered if we'd been on a different type of excursion that we could have adjusted to start earlier, but there was no way to change our tour to start earlier.

On Ruby Princess we did fall back out of Ft. Lauderdale an hour from EST so we were on Cozumel time.

Since not all ships and cruise lines do this, the only thing of importance to you is YOUR ship's time. ;)

I bet it depends on the course. If it is the Jamaica route they go back an hour for whole cruise, but if it the roatan route you stay on central time since coz is the only time difference.

How has the Oasis handled the time change?

It will likely be announced on the speaker system, be printed in the daily program and posted at the gangway. Pay Attention to what they say and react accordingly. They make it well known what the time is on the ship and that is what you have to go by.
