Bringing wine on board in Ft Lauderdale

Booked on Celebrity boarding in Ft. Lauderdale. Flying to Ft. Lauderdale, and taking a cab to the ship. Does anyone have any suggestions how and where we can get 2 bottles of wine between the airport and the ship?

Google 'Harbor Shops Plaza'. There is a Publix (supermarket) and a Total Wine there.

 

It's where I plan to stock up before our transatlantic!

Agree. Discussed on the Florida Departures board regularly that the 17th St area is the closest and easiest way to take care of this, via Publix and Total Wines.

We always go by Total Wines

taxi would have to go out of the direct route between the airport and cruiseport to go to Total Wines - so if you don't mind paying a few extra dollars for the cab ride, that's the way to go.

Is this "Harbour Shops" plaza walkable from the ship? Or is a cab the way to go.

I haven't been there, but it appears to be too far and too busy a street/bridge for friendly walking BUT I read somewhere online, that there is a yellow-and-red trolley (like bus) that will take you to the north side of the Plaza for something very cheap (and back). Maybe someone who's been there will contribute details.

This is also discussed regularly on the Florida Departures board. Unless you are at Terminal 2 or 4 (commonly Princess ships), the Port is not walkable. The Harbor shops are just about a mile from Terminal 2, and it would be walkable.
