DinaS Posted February 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) Any advice for a family of 4 with a 5 and 8 year old? Have a great time! :D Oh, and don't forget to join your roll call. There will likely be other families with kids during the summer, and that's a great way to get to know people before your cruise! wwcruisers Posted February 25, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) Yes, like Dina said: find and join your roll-call. That's where you'll get to meet the other folks you'll be cruising with. There will probably be others who've done that route before -- and, you may even find families, traveling with kids. Also, take some time to check out Bermuda in a guide-book, tripadvisor, and the Ports-of-Call boards here. It's a big island, with lots of stuff (for adults and kids) to do -- and, you'll be there long enough (3 days) to really explore. Public transportation (ferries and buses) will get you just about anywhere you need to go -- and it's cheap, clean, and safe. Have a great cruise! Edited February 25, 2015 by wwcruisers

Also, they have the Bermuda Harbour nights, held on Wednesday nights in Hamilton, lots of local stuff including food. jsf Posted February 25, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 25, 2015 Make sure you get the 3 day transportation passes so you can use the ferry's and buses to see the whole island, real bargain. Try Tabacco Bay for snorkling, lots to do on Bermuda. J.
TallJerseyGirl Posted February 26, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2015 We cruised on the summit August 2013 when our daughter was 6. She loved the kids club on sea days. Are you looking for land or sea advice? I'm happy to answer any questions. We are going back in 8/23, can't wait!
cyntil8ing Posted February 26, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2015 We've taken our two kids on the Summit to Bermuda three times over the past four years. They were 5 and 8 on our first trip in 2011. We love it. They love it. We're going to do a Southern Caribbean cruise this summer, but we'll probably return to Bermuda in 2016. The first year, we visited BAMZ, the Aquarium and Zoo. We also visited St. George and Hamilton and spent the final day at Horseshoe Bay. In 2013, we rented a Boston Whaler for a day. It was a huge hit with everyone. We visited Gibbs Hill Lighthouse and Crystal Caves. Last year, we hired a private guide for one day, walked the beaches between Warwick Long Bay and Horseshoe, and then rented a pontoon boat. And there are still lots of things remaining on our to-do list! We also love the sea days and we never missed a scavenger hunt. My kids aren't too interested in the kids' club. cyntil8ing Posted February 26, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 26, 2015 hi , any recomendations for a guide in bermuda? We have used Heidi Cowen twice. Her website is http://www.bermudafootsteps.com/. If you're on Facebook, search for her page there -- 'Byways Tours Bermuda'. She posts all sorts of great photos, weather reports and links. Since we've been to Bermuda quite a few times, last summer we asked her to take us off the beaten path. We went to Southlands, an former estate now in ruins turned into a park, and Tom Moore's Jungle. She has a van and brings along her dog Buddy, who is blind, on all tours. There were six of us last time, so we just booked her privately. With my girlfriend, there were only two of us, so we booked as a shared tour.
