Toulon France

Hello!

 

I am booked on a cruise for May and we will be in Toulon. I am a solo traveler and late to the game in booking tours with other cruisers on the roll call.

 

I have not been to Toulon before and wondering if there is enough to see and do in town on my own; or maybe taking the train to Aix-en-Provence (or another location). I do not wish to book a private guide on my own.

Hi Mary, I'm on the same cruise as you, but exactly a year later. :)

 

I'm doing a private tour, but originally had planned to go to Bormes Les Mimosas, you would take the ferry to Toulon from La Seyne (where you're docked) & then then bus #8814, there also may be a train or a faster bus, I chose it over Aix as you don't need as many transfers, it's a straight shot there & back.

 

If you want Aix, the Celebrity transfer is actually a pretty good deal, I hate cruise ship tours, but this is not a tour, just a bus there & back, & you would not have to worry about getting back on time. :)

I agree that Aix is a good choice. We also found that the bus fare on the ship tour was competitive with the train and was less hassle.
