No Bahamas Cruises From Port Canaveral Summer 2016?

Recommended Posts

That's just wonderful:mad: We're sailing out of PC this November and DW wanted to go to Disney on the day we get back.....I told her it wouldn't be worth going for just one day (we fly back home on Monday) and that for next year, we would just do a short 4-day out of PC and then spend a couple days in Mouseland. She's gonna be upset to know that plan ain't gonna happen.....

Thanks RC (not)!

Unfortunately what John&LaLa suggests won't work for mjeff87 who clearly wants a short 4 day cruise and the Freedom sailings suggested are 7day. But that doesn't stop them from taking a short cruise from Miami and driving up to Mouseland for a few days and heading home from there. It still is doable if that is what you want.

My comment was talking about the short cruises.

Even us Gulf Coasters could get to PC for a short cruise in 1 1/2 hours.

I should have included 'no short cruises'.:)

And I think in the summer of 2016 it'll be only Miami, for a short RCL cruise.:)

Rhapsody will start doing the short cruises as a replacement for Enchantment beginning on November 10, 2016.

I think Ft Lauderdale threw me for a loop.

This explains the high prices this summer for the EN. Maybe they figure $12 to $14 a drink by next summer people would rather go to Disney than cruise.

Lots of liquor packages sold on Enchantment

Will be interesting to see how the Enchantment in Miami, and the Rhapsody in PC, both Vision Class ships do.

The prices on the Enchantment never seemed to be as low as what the Monarch sales were, wonder if the same will be true with the Enchantment in Miami.

Happy cruising.:)

We took many a 'cheap' cruise on the Monarch out of PC. (miss those deals)

The good ole days of the Monarch sales, $99. insides, $119. OV, $149. Dk9 OV, running around the ship with beer bags, the crazy rambunctious casino parties!:D

I don't think it matters that they are both Vision class ships. The Miami market, which often has repeat cruisers on the short weekender, should enjoy a new ship along with its added features. How they will price it will be interesting. I am not the keeper of the fares (in my family), but we have only booked Her Majesty recently on Deck 9 SOV and we have never gotten a $149 pp deal on that cabin when we have sailed. Not counting when we have redeemed points for a companion fare or gotten a good BOGO deal, we have paid $260pp (port charges and any taxes included in this, but not tips) for the weekend sailing on Her Majesty. We don't consider that a bad price for the cabin selection we want --SOV on Deck 9. We may have gotten BOGO deals within a few dollars higher of this price -- all that we are willing to pay for this sailing.

How much more are we (& other people) going to be willing to pay, I can't say.

For us personally, we won't care that the ship has many more balcony cabins than Her Majesty did. The only balcony cabins on Her Majesty are JS, which we are in for our last cruise on her (4 day itinerary). For us for a short weekend cruise an OV without a balcony would suffice.

Time will tell!
