Tasting Menu in The Glass House

Yes you should book as soon as you board - you can book in The Glasshouse. It's well worth the money - each course is accompanied by a selected wine and the Somnelier comes to explain why each wine has been chosen. The Glasshouse Manager talks about each course as it's served. It is a very pleasant evening.

We were lucky enough to do this when Olly Smith was on board Azura and had a great evening. He described the wines and the maitre d' the food. Both came round and chatted

We went down to the Glass House as soon as we got on the ship and they took our names. It's really worth doing.

Can you explain how this works, please.

It it an evening, on more than one night, costs, etc?

Thank you.

OK, they do this 23/ times a cruise, 14 nights. Everyone sits down at the same time at about 7.30. There is a set meal with some choice but you pre order. Every course is explained to you and you get a different glass of wine with each course. The wine is also described. There are a max of about 20 people all together on tables of 4. The cost is £30.00 per head for which you do get 4 glasses of wine. The food is excellent.

Thank you for explaining.

I fancy this as my birthday treat and as Olly Smith is on board for my cruise it couldn't be a better time. :)

I'm not sure which ship you are on but we have done this on Azura - we prebooked by email to the F&B Manager on Azura, maybe you could try this to your ship to guarantee a booking for your birthday

We've got Olly onboard for our June cruise on Azura - we have

booked a special excursion where he comes with us to a vineyard and we have lunch in a Spanish Parador with him too - should be good!

It's good and as we're vegetarians it impressed us that there is a vegetarian menu paired with wines for that menu.

The only caveat might be table companions, in that, if a couple, you'll be paired with another couple and it might be pot luck as to whether you click.

Luckily we did, finding a bit of that "small world" with the couple we dined with.

This was on Ventura, Caribbean Jan 2014 and booking onboard was no problem. Perhaps it's become more popular now?
