Panama Canal 86% Complete. Does Carnival send bigger ships to Long Beach in 2016?

We'll see how the leak in the locks affects this opening date.

The article I read said that the Canal Authority doesn't expect, based on preliminary info, that this will delay the April 2016 opening. But neither they nor the primary contractor has had much to say lately and the photos I saw don't look good. So yeah, I guess we'll see. :(

Does this timeline take into account the cracking in the Atlantic locks and the reinforcement and grouting required. I would think that is going to be a major setback.

I'm not sure the person posting those monthly updates has much (if any) more info than the rest of us. In fact, I'm guessing you're more in tune with the true status of the project (and the leaks) than anyone else here. Your 2017 estimate (from a separate thread) is probably pretty accurate. ;)
