Grand Princess & Golden Princess in Vancouver today

We are just arriving to our home port of Vancouver and there are 2 Princess ships in before us (we are on Noordam). What a gorgeous day for all the guests to see Vancouver. [ATTACH]348820[/ATTACH

The Grand has been in Vancouver for the last week in wet dock at Canada Place . It went to sea on Thursday for sea trials. Came back to Canada Place on Friday .

Thanks for the photos, maybe they will add a plastic lightweight version of Skywalkers back onto the ship. ;)

The Grand has a brand new coat of paint on her exterior - they pounded out the bubbles(?) on the various outside of the balconies, scrapped and painted so there shouldn't be any rust showing on the outside - there should be new carpet in the buffet - it was sitting up on deck 15 when I was on her for the Coastal and was told that it was for the buffet etc.

 

There were other outside contractors on her working while we sailed getting her ready for other improvements - what those are weren't being disclosed so guess we will have to wait for those sailing her next to find out.

 

Will be down that way later today so will take a look at her and the Golden.

I'm in the Pan Pacific in one of their corner rooms with 2 huge picture windows and have been watching the activity on the Grand (which feels close enough to touch!) from the comfort of an arm chair 😀.

 

We watched as the Golden Princess arrived, followed by the Noordam and it is indeed fine weather to witness this in this beautiful city. This has been a most memorable stay. Later today we board the Grand for our first-ever Princess cruise and I'm really looking forward to it, although it will be a wrench to leave this lovely hotel room.
