Host Hattie Posted June 3, 2015 Author #76 Share Posted June 3, 2015
I can attest to the fact that there are 'potholes' on the ship although to be fair, they are more like soft, shallow dips. However, they can be a hazard, especially to high heels. I did not make note of specific locations but there is at least one in the hallway into the Queens Room (approaching from the right side), one in the deck 6 hallway (odd numbers) and a particularly impressive one in the photo gallery just in front of the desk.
Thanks for reminding me I was supposed to report back & for remembering where some of them were - we found them in the casino, chart room and grand lobby. None of them exactly pot-holes but definitely changes in level. I don't wear heals so they weren't a hazard for me. No indication of when this would be fixed was provided.
Thanks
Host Hattie Posted June 3, 2015 Author #77 Share Posted June 3, 2015 Hopefully between us we managed to answer most of the questions. We had a fantastic time, we met some lovely people, had good food and service and the celebrations in Liverpool were amazing. I'm so glad we were able to be part of it. My next trip is on QV in December (unless Cunard make me an offer I can't refuse in the meantime !). Thanks for your interest.
Underwatr Posted June 3, 2015 #78 Share Posted June 3, 2015 (edited)
We attended the planetarium show on this voyage and changed seats (in the red section) several times to find ones which reclined to give a good view of the screen. We gave up since the show was about to start and viewed the program with tilted back heads.
The seats are designed so that when you stand up and the seat folds up, the back recline releases so the seatback comes to the upright position. You can use this to your advantage when the recline knob is broken:

Stand up so the seat folds up.
Push the seatback to the reclined position with one hand and then fold the seat down with the other. Folding down the seat will lock the seatback in the reclined position.
Sit down without letting the seat come back up.
I haven't found a solution for the seats that recline unexpectedly, aside from avoidance.
