drumdrumdrum Posted May 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2015 Are you allowed to bring any bottles of mixers onto the ship in addition to your 2 bottles of wine? Or do they take these and dispose of them? The mixer is non alcoholic. I like a certain mixer and would like to have the bartender use it for a special drink. All other drinks I'll gladly accept what the ship gives me. Any experience with this? thanks.

calypso73 Posted May 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2015 (edited) from the RC website FAQ section: Q: Can I bring alcohol or non-alcoholic beverages (from home or from a port) on board? A: Guests are not allowed to bring beer, hard liquor or non-alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Guests wishing to bring personal wine and champagne onboard may do so only on boarding day, limited to two (2) 750 ml bottles per stateroom. Additional bottles of wine beyond two (2) bottles that are brought onboard or any alcoholic beverages purchased in ports-of-call or from Shops On Board will be stored by the ship and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the sailing. Alcoholic beverages seized on embarkation day will not be returned. Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under age 21, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with our Guest Conduct Policy. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them. Please Note: All guests must comply with TSA guidelines for transporting liquids." It does appear this policy is policed more when it comes to alcohol and many will tell you they have successfully taken non alcoholic drinks on board. siren Posted May 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2015 I had individual cans of V8 juice in my carry on that I brought from a long flight. They let me bring them on board. We saved them for the travel home.
NJcruisenewbie Posted May 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2015 I can't imagine the bartenders agreeing to use your mixer to create a drink. That sounds like a health code violation to me. If you do get it on board you could get a shot of vodka or whatever and mix the drink yourself.

So, these mixers are for a special drink that you want a bartender to make for you and not for the rum runners that you were talking about in a different thread?
griffy116 Posted May 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 23, 2015 I was about to say that I think your luggage would be subject to an extra special bit of attention due to suspicion that you were also smuggling some alcohol to go with this "special" mixer. cb at sea Posted May 23, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 23, 2015 I don't believe they will be allowed to use a food-stuff/drink YOU bring onto the ship.
