Maligator Posted June 26, 2015 #26 Share Posted June 26, 2015 Nice to hear. I am going Montreal - Boston in Sept, and have the 24-105 and Rokinon 14mm for my 6D but don't have a longer lens. Was considering taking the Rebel with the 18-200 just to have a longer equivalent with me. From reading the many posts, I may just take the 6D (and then I may be inclined to buy another lens over there). Without knowing what kind of shooting you're into, I'd say the 24-105mm will get you through probably 95% of what you want.
c230k Posted July 24, 2015 #27 Share Posted July 24, 2015 After reading all the inputs, going on shore excursions will not need a long zoom lens. Will up to 200mm do the trick? Or is there one excursion you would need more? Tom
Rare mskaufman Posted July 24, 2015 #28 Share Posted July 24, 2015 I did Canada/New England last year and never took off my 18 - 200.
ab21au Posted July 25, 2015 #29 Share Posted July 25, 2015 I did Canada/New England last year and never took off my 18 - 200. If it is the Canon EF-S lens, yes it is a good lens. I have been considering taking it with my T1i (500d) and leaving my 6D at home but taking my 24-105 because it is a better lens than the 18-200. My reasoning is with the crop sensor I will have an equivalent 320 zoom. If I just take the 6D I do not have a bigger zoom for it (yet) and will be restricted to 105 mm. What to do!!! 6D + 24-105 + 14mm + 50mm Or T1i + 24-105 + 18-200 Any opinions are welcomed ... please.

I love the full frame but would be tempted by the T1i 18-200 + 14mm and the 24-
ab21au Posted July 25, 2015 #31 Share Posted July 25, 2015 What I might do is some test photos with the T1i set up over the next two weeks, before departure. The zoom will also come in handy for things like baseball at Yankee Stadium.
