If you have ended your cruise in Amsterdam, can you remember if there were taxis waiting for passengers to debark? We have an 11:40 am flight and plan to walk off in order to make the flight. Thanks for any information you can share.

When you can order a car to pick you up why worry about a taxi line?

Orchestral -- Can you explain what you mean by ordering a car? How does one do that? What if it takes longer to get off the ship than expected? Do you know how the cost compares to a taxi?

There ought to be taxis available when you leave the terminal. If not, there is a Movenpick hotel just to your right as you leave the terminal; it is a short walk away and they ought to be able to call a taxi for you if necessary.

If you are returning to PTA then that is easy but if you are on the sailing that returns on Aug 22nd then we have been moved to the Marine Terminal. This is due to a very big tall ships event. It is probably best to have a taxi ordered and waiting for you if that is the case. To order a privat taxi you can simly google taxis in Amsterdam and then check out their web sites. It is easily done and typically much more cost effective than ship transfers.

We got off the Silhouette at Amsterdam last week and there was a long line for taxis - it moved fast but it still took almost an hour for us to get to the top of the line. Our hotel was quite close to the station and cruise terminal and we could have walked except for our bags.

Suggest the OP books a taxi or disembarks a little earlier than originally planned.

Thanks for all the information/advice. Once we get to Amsterdam, I will ask the concierge to arrange for a taxi to pick us up when we debark the ship.

Rather new and populair are the tinker taxis, in general cheaper than the others but only to and from the airport.
