I have been to Nassau 3 times but have never been to Atlantis. Being 76 I am not much for the waterslides but would like to go there. Is it best to take a shore excursion thought the ship or go on your own. Just would like to see the casino and the aquarium. Will be there from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

It's literally down the road and over a bridge, maybe 10 minutes from the pier by car. You could easily take a cab.

The casino has a few pretty pieces of artwork but in all seems somewhat barren. But outdoors!! The architecture is wonderful! The various "ponds" with their sealife, entrancing. And don't forget to see The Dig, which has a Captain Nemo-style architecture to the walking path. The aquariums in there are fascinating, with their underwater, somewhat Minoan architecture.

Loved every minute we spent there!

We just took a taxi there. It was super easy. They are lined up at the port when you get off the ship. Getting back to the ship was also easy. There are lots of taxis lined up at the hotel as well. It is a great sight to see.

You can also take the water taxi for about $4 each way I think.

Guy on board points out sights on the way...just a short walk

thru area of shops & Starbux to Atlantis. You can also buy

a wristband there (I think about $39) to see some of the

sights if you wish.

Without a wristband, you can only see the casino. You can but a pass (under $50, I believe) to the aquarium. You will not be able to see the pools and beach. There is a pass that also includes the beach, and yet another that includes everything (around $140).

My 7 y/o grandson and his parents desperately want to experience the water park when we are in Nassau aboard Escape next February.

Since we are in port only half the day, is it really worth the $ ? I've never been so I can't advise them.

A cruise tip on YouTube mentioned that sometimes it's worth it to actually book a room for a day with the max people possible in a room. How much is it to get a pass for the water slides and beaches? Has anyone ever booked a room for the day in port? I assume a booking would include full admission. I will also be going via The Escape next May. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

I have kids ages 15, 10 and 6. We've been many times over the last 9 years. We have always had a great time there. It is a fantastically fun place, and if this is the only time they will be on Paradise Island - then it will be worth it.

I did do this one time a few years ago. It was a smooth transaction and completely came out to my favour financially... especially as there were 4 of us making the visit to Atlantis.

You really have to do the math. You can book through comfort suites, but the price varies. Make sure to add up the taxes and fees. We've done it twice, once through CS, the other through NCL (off peak, cost was less that CS or buying directly from Atlantis). The prices at CS are cheaper if you book far in advance.

In response to a PP, I don't think it's worth it if the ship is only there for a half day. ETA, if you have children, check the height requirements for the slides - they are pretty high.

They would definitely have to hit the ground running to maximize their enjoyment... but if it is their only time to be there and it is priced as a half day - then I still think it would be worth it.

You do NOT need an "excursion" for the casino!!...you can get a cab and go to the casino...they welcome your money!!! You can buy a ticket to the aquarium,...again, they welcome your money!

Atlantis is a hotel...anyone can go to it..you simply can't go to the pool/waterpark without paying an arm and a leg!!!
