squalie79 Posted July 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2015 Hello all! This is my VERY first post! Yahoo! :p:p:p This site has been amazing in helping me plan my family's very first cruise (for all of us). We will be sailing on the Disney Fantasy, June 11-18, 2016! I do have a passport question- I had a passport when I was an infant due to my father serving in the Navy in Italy. On the passport forms it asks "have you ever applied for or been issued a US passport or passport card? Well, I had one, but I am 36 now and that passport has been gone for like 34 years. Does anyone know what I should check here???? My options are 1. submitting with application, 2. stolen, 3. lost. I have gotten mixed answers about this from family and friends and wanted to get another opinion. THANKS!
Imapc.braniff Posted July 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2015 I believe this would actually be "your" first passport
Langley Cruisers Posted July 9, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2015 Looks like #3 is the only one that fits in any way here. You did have a passport, even though it was decades ago. Having said that, I'm not sure family and friends (or us for that matter!) really matter - you need an official answer so perhaps you might contact someone at the link I will give you for an official answer. http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english.html . Rare Essiesmom Posted July 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2015 Did you actually have your own passport, or were you on your parents passport? I believe years ago infants were not issued separate passports. However, it really does not matter, because after 34 years, it is long 'lost'. So, that is what I would put on the application. Blue Mudshark Posted July 9, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 9, 2015 If you were included, as an infant, on a parent's passport, then answer no, you have not applied for or been issued a passport. If you had a separate passport, as an infant, just for you, then answer yes. The fact that the passport is long gone, decades ago, shouldn't be any problem. Krazy Kruizers Posted July 9, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 9, 2015 Welcome to Cruise Critic. You have been included in your parent's passport (father's) since he served in the Navy. So put down "No". Check out the Disney board at this link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=167 I could not find a Roll Call for your cruise but you can start one at this link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=687 Check out Family Cruises at this link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=49 Congratulations on booking your first cruise. EM I did have one and my sweet mother threw it away thinking I probably wouldn't need it. I wish I still had it just for sentimental purposes! Thank you for all of your answers!!! Hopefully I won't have any issues getting it!
