New Casino Offers - Premier and Ultra

We've been on three premier cruises this year, but was disappointed that we didn't get the Ultra offer. We also didn't get the premier offer that was for the third quarter of 2015. However, Carnival gave us the premier offer for 1st quarter 2016. None of the dates really worked for us in January, and we found the Dream online, (wasn't on the flyer in the mail), and booked it for the end of Feb., as premier. Carnival is getting random in how they send out the offers.

we been on several premiers and got the ultra offer.. but there are only two datees both in December..

we are doing premier B2B on Breeze Nov 1 and 7, both weeks are premier cruises, and to do the ultra in december would be too much.

I see you've got an upcoming "Milestone" sailing on a premier cruise. How did your 25% fare discount (owing to the Milestone 25th sailing) apply on that, since I assume it was a free or discounted cruise to begin with ?

THat partially true. Yes the guest gets the drink card, invites to all the parties, you can do the day events the Guest just doesn't get a chance at the "big prizes" which last year were offered around 10 pm

Does the third adult in the cabin receive anything? I'm always the third [emoji20] and our next Miracle cruise is Mom's first premier cruise.

If the third doesn't, no problem. Just wondering.

Havent used the 25% for that cruise, will use it next year when doing the Vista May 1.

I have not been able to combine a bounce back and a premier on the last three premiers... could do it previously and have done so... but no more

Yep - they've been quite tight w/regard to doubling up offers!

  • 6 months later...

I was surprise when casino rep on Elation offered me free cruise during my last night playing on my first family cruise ever in August 2015. It was a FREE cruise and needed to be booked within 3-weeks, which I did not take.

I received a black envelope about 3-weeks ago from Carnival, and I almost threw it away. My wife is the one that check those stuff. It's good offer so I booked 5-cruises.

Considering I maintain at least 7500 casino points, will carnival send this type of offer quarterly? I wasn't expecting anything, but it's great free (port/tax) this summer.

Very nice ! :)

Might I ask what your game was... and did you experience a significant loss, or have a high level of play?

I'm always amazed at what/why/how/whom this offer goes to. I'm often getting multiple thousands/night at the tables and can frequently donate a rather large amount over the course of a cruise, yet my Premier offers have gone from "Free balcony w/$1,000 cash" to some % off an oceanview lately.

It actually feels as if they are slapping me in the face... no matter though, as you'll note in my signature, I've found that there are plenty of other ships on the sea! :D

Tom,

I play craps and mostly slots. I think in August 2015, my net loss is probably $1500-$2000; however, I was going for the points of at least 7500 points, and exceeded. Last week on Freedom, I earned at least 10K points so I should be receiving offer again.

I play in Vega$ and have comps at Cosmopolitan and others, but now that I tried cruising, I would rather "pre-pay" for my cruise with wife and kids than going to Vega$ solo.

Wow so your offers dropped. Do you check your points at the end of the cruise?

The only time I was aware of my points was during a premier sailing where every 5K points got you an entry into a final night drawing (or something like that). I ended up with something like 25K points. There have been many sailings where I've "donated" ten grand or more... I tip (dealers and drink servers well). We're very friendly and not "jerks". I think they've just come to take me for granted and thus don't really attempt to entice me with offers.

I'm glad it's working for you - though don't count on it going on like this for years. Take what you can when they offer it... that's what I did - managing to get the Captain's Suite a couple of times for between $500 to $700 pp! Now it's 30% off an oceanview or something... whatever it was, I tossed it quickly! They should know.. if they want me, offer me a suite and at least a grand of starting cash.

I think they've got their sights set on the casual gambler with several hundred to a couple grand to offer up. That's where their gravy is. They don't really care to attempt to cultivate a clientele who's betting higher. They know that other lines pretty much have that all wrapped up already! Out of 60+ Carnival cruises, I can count on one hand how many times I've seen purple chips in the tray at the $25 BJ table. All the other lines keep them in there, and often have higher denominations as well (not that I'd be playing that level anyway). When I walk away from the table UP ten grand, it's much easier to take a handful of purples or yellows. On Carnival they have to bring you a chip tray for the 100 blacks you'll be lugging... at least most of the time!

I hear ya Tom. I am only booking more if they give me the deals. I am 3 days from Diamond after this next bunch of sailings. Then unless I get what I use to - I will be trying out the competition.

I play slots, video poker and tables. Don't have your bank roll and I have been loosing for a while. My bank roll now is a few hundred to a $1000.

Just taking what they gave me as a deal this go round. $75 with a $50 obc credit. I think they owe me like 5 truly free cruises. Not the ones where they pay the tip fees. I am not at that level anymore.

I know the rules and when I don't get my bounce back it ticks me off. Over 10k points in 48 hours or 5k in less than a day certainly rates a free cruise even by their rules.

I've asked and asked the hosts about my lack of bounce back lately - they say if you have something booked your aren't gonna get a freebie at the end of the sailing. I keep telling them, someone else will give it to me,,,,,hate it's gonna be from different cruise line.

We have your level of play also and never get a bounce back or any other offer. It is true that if you have a cruise booked they will offer you nada. The dealers and pit bosses cannot believe we are not offered anything. They frequently ask the casino host why not and are told the same thing. We are a sure thing and they do not have to offer us anything. I finally broke down and wrote the Players Club and received a letter that stated exactly that. I keep trying to get the other half to try other lines but so far he hasn't. I have over 75 cruises with Carnival. I have sailed the other lines quite a few times but it has been almost three years since I have been on any of them. Maybe I can convince him to go somewhere else soon.

While not in the same league as some of you (I usually get around 6,000 pts on a CCL cruise) I find NCL's Casino at Sea much "nicer" when it comes to offering perks on cabins, discounts, etc. However, I was just told they have also changed their rating system, and their offers will be getting stingier also! I always get a bounce-back offer on Carnival, and recently received e-mails about casino discounts/cash and Premier cruises. I have no CCL cruise booked at this point, so maybe that does have something to do with their all-of-a-sudden offers.

Good luck to you as far as branching out from Carnival. I reached my Milestone (25th) Carnival cruise before we tested the waters elsewhere. Looking back, I wish we would have spread our wings sooner.

At least the players club was upfront as to why (I'm amazed at that!). I hope you're able to talk your husband into leaving his comfort zone. It would be one thing if, at least, being in a suite on Carnival meant something but even there, they're woefully behind EVERY OTHER LINE WE'VE SAILED !

We might slip in the occasional Carnival cruise here and there, but you can take a look at our future cruises to get an idea of where my head is at!

HELLO THERE ! :D

I think when I received the last offer I still had a cabin booked on the Vista for next March. We ended up going for the Oasis since she's coming here to Pt. Canaveral. I've always wanted to sail in their Royal Loft Suite and I saw it was available. It usually goes for between 15-20K for the week, but going through their casino department I got it for just over 10... THRILLED at that. We're also booking about 8 other cabins for my staff (annual cruise), so any line which shows me some consideration stands to get more than just my booking.

So, who knows, perhaps with no (booked) Carnival cruises they'll kick it up a notch (or 10)! I do have the Koningsdam booked for Thanksgiving this year, and the Carnival players club was able to transfer an $1,800 rebate to that sailing for me... so I'm not sure if they'll look at that as "having one booked" with them or not.

We're sailing on NCL this time because I'd had it with the lousy offers and customer service for the "VIP" casino department. Since then we've gotten a little more personal attention after I expressed my frustration and we booked a B2B in September on a free offer. We also booked the Panama Canal cruise (not free yet), but only because I really liked the itinerary.

Basically, we've run into the same issues (if you already have a cruise booked no Bounceback-and that includes both of us for some reason; no perks upfront, although the hosts always take care of us; and lastly, the only really good offers are to sail on the Premiere Cruises, which often don't work for us because of the dates).

They do take their best gamblers for granted. Carnival knows that if they can get you onboard in any way, shape, or form you're going to spend in the casino, so they try to cultivate new gamblers instead. Why they don't have a true VIP department that answers the phone, shows appreciation for the $$$ spent, and does whatever they have to as an enticement to sail is beyond me.

Best of "luck" ( :) ) on NCL. We've sailed the Sky perhaps 2-3 times, the Pearl, the Epic (twice), and the Breakaway. After going on both the Epic and Breakaway I don't think I could go back to their other class of ships. So, just in case the Gem doesn't wow you - give their newer class of ships a try. Lately I've been getting more "love" from Celebrity and Royal Caribbean than I have from NCL - but it always seems that the best offers are when you're relatively new to a line, and they see potential !! Perhaps you can parlay some strong play on the Gem into a nice offer!

We just came back from our Milestone (25) cruise on the Splendor. We played as we normally do in the casino - DH and I each ran around 2k through the BJ tables and I ran around 2k through the slots. We didn't have any major losses (only about 1k total). When we got back to the cabin on the last night my DH had a bounce back offer in the mailbox. This is the FIRST time we have ever been offered a cruise in 25 sailings, so I'm wondering if Tom is right that they are trying to court the mid-level players. FWIW, I was a bit annoyed that I did not get an offer since I had "risked" more money than him in the casino, however, we have a cruise booked for next April and I am the lead passenger, so I don't know if that made a difference.

I'm still not sure why I have received anything other than the cruise pricing. I had about 2-3000 pts last time and hit a large jackpot. I spend about $1000 on slots each time and I just get casino deal offers. I was never even given the drinks on us tab last time - I guess I was supposed to ask for it?

Got off the Freedom Sat, had bounce back offer Mon, had 6800 pts, plus considerable table play. $706 for 2 mid ship balcony, no tips or ins. Tom
