ilovetotravel1977 Posted July 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Ladies! We all know that 85% of women's swimwear has adjustable straps with metal sliders. Are we still able to ride the water slides on the BA and GA or do you get turned away? We'll be on the Escape and I'm assuming the same rules will apply. I had zero issue on the Epic slides. slaine29 Posted July 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2015 One sure fire way of not getting turned around is to remove said items of swimwear before proceding down the slide, or better still at the begining of the queue, that way maybe you will get to the front quicker, i'm sure i would prefer you in front of me .....lol :p :D
luvtovaca Posted July 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Thanks for asking! I've been wondering same. I was able to find one bathing suit that has no metal at all, but my other suit has the straps you referred to with metal slider adjusters. RuthlessBoss Posted July 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2015 With the size of swimwear we see, is there enough material to secure a slider?

SliceOfLife Posted July 15, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2015 I'm going to say no, men are turned away for metal grommets/rivets on their pockets. To be safe, find a swimsuit that does not have metal on the shoulder straps. None of my bathing suits have them (Lands End). The metal will scratch the slides and if it were to get caught on something it could cause serious injuries. The no metal rule only applies to the freefall water slide.
ilovetotravel1977 Posted July 15, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Hmm, maybe I could wrap them with tape lol Everyone one of my suits has adjustable straps, Land Ends suits have zero support for me :P I wonder if the person working the slides has to ask every single person if they have metal on their suit? ilovetotravel1977 Posted July 15, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted July 15, 2015 The no metal rule only applies to the freefall water slide. Don't you have to wear some type of back pad? I've seen that in pics from te BA and GA...

Fido Chuckwagon Posted July 16, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 16, 2015 Don't you have to wear some type of back pad? I've seen that in pics from te BA and GA... You don't have to wear it, it's optional. That said, I highly recommend you do wear it, those slides can be tough on your back.
MandyMommyof2 Posted July 16, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 16, 2015 I was on the Getaway last week and I wear the bandeau tops from Victorias Secret. It has the metal clip on the back. I was not turned away on any of the slides :) All jewelry does have to be removed. And totally not what you ask, but you have to weight 99lbs. as well. My 12 year old was sent back down :(
bradleyk Posted July 16, 2015 #12 Share Posted July 16, 2015 I have read that you can't wear jewelry as well. Does that mean I have to take off my wedding ring?
dexddd Posted July 16, 2015 #13 Share Posted July 16, 2015 I have read that you can't wear jewelry as well. Does that mean I have to take off my wedding ring? Yes, no jewelry on the freefall slides.

SliceOfLife Posted July 16, 2015 #18 Share Posted July 16, 2015 Don't you have to wear some type of back pad? I've seen that in pics from te BA and GA... The back boards were only on the Breakaway, I never saw them on my Getaway cruise. They also don't make you wear them anymore, but I guess you could wear it to cover up the metal pieces on swimsuit straps.
