MONKEY20 Posted July 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2015 Do you have to print the train tickets or do you pick them up at the train station in Rome? Ian
Bobal Posted July 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2015 It would help if you said tickets from where and to where.

MeHeartCruising Posted July 28, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 28, 2015 I'm not sure you HAVE to do it one way or the other. I printed mine out at home and brought them with me.
Rare Hlitner Posted July 28, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) Nearly all the trains between Termini and Civitavecchia are Regionale (regional) trains for which there are no reservations and no real need to buy a ticket in advance. Tickets are easily purchased at any of the Trenitalia ticket windows or via any of the many vending machines located in the stations. In fact, when you buy a ticket for the Regionale trains that ticket is good on any of the trains (there are no times or train numbers stamped on the tickets). You simply validate your ticket by inserting it in the validation machine and hop on the next train. Hank Edited July 28, 2015 by Hlitner
slidergirl Posted July 29, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 29, 2015 You can now also get "e-tickets" for the Regionale. It comes already validated. You just have it on your smartphone or tablet. From the Trenitalia site: "Electronic regional tickets are issued already validated. You can not anticipate the departure, you can not change the ticket and the ticket is not refundable.Tickets are nominative and associated to passenger's name and surname inserted in the passengers details.Electronic regional tickets must be shown together with a valid identity document , when requested by a staff member. Before departure print the PDF attached to the purchase email or show it on the screen of an electronic device (PC, tablet, smartphone) able to properly display it." I actually did this with my Leonardo tickets back in May.
