Made my packing for Noordam a breeze

We were using pods but this spring for our TA & 6 weeks of travel afterwards we used the "bundling" method. It worked really well for us & clothes were wrinkle free. Here's one video showing the technique.

Thanks for reminding me of that video. I did a transatlantic a few years back and used that method. I couldn't believe how much you could fit in a carryon.

Yes I agree that method is great if you are staying in one place but we are on the road gor 16 days and find the pods the best method for a road trip.

No going through the bundle to see what you want, they are all rolled neatly in the pods and if creases fo happen a fine mist spray soon smooths them out

Happy travels

I do not have as much cruising experience as many posters, but I do have almost 3/4 of a century worth of experience packing for long stays/trips as a military daughter, wife, mother (and now grandmother!). I start with a duffel, more amenable to squishing things into than a rigid piece.

After sorting and winnowing a coordinated wardrobe, I separate clothing into stacks of like items, putting those pieces on top most likely to be needed first. I prefer to have all tees or all shorts, etc. in one stack, but if one would rather do whole outfits, that works, too. I place each stack into a plastic bag of some sort (whatever I have on hand, small kitchen garbage bags, department store bags, etc.), tie it partially off, squish the air out, then tie off completely, and label the bag. The bags stack like sandbags into the duffel, with shoes filling in any crevices.

Once my duffel arrives in my cabin, I pull the bags out, stick them on shelves in the closet, and shove the duffel under the bed, unpacking finished in five minutes. Repacking, I use the same bags, but sort piles differently, drycleaners, delicate wash, permanent press, whites, etc. At home the bags come out of the duffel once more in five minutes with the laundry already sorted.
