What clothes are needed

We are going to the fiords on the 29th of August for one week. I have never been north on holiday before and have no idea of temperatures or what clothes to take. I would welcome any advice.

Layers for sure for any condition from 5C to 16C

Long sleeve shirts, long pants, vests, sweatshirts, sweaters, caps, rain jacket, warm jacket, warm shoes and socks, thin gloves. Also, lighter weight clothing for warmer days and inside.

We've never done the fjords but plan to do so someday. As suggested above, layers will be the way to go. It worked great for us in Alaska. We had some cold days (Glacier Bay for instance) and some t-shirt days as well. I don't think it would be wise to lock yourself into one "type" of clothing and you certainly don't want to pack multiple wardrobes.

Good advice. Check the Roll Call. Take a couple of thinner jackets, a fleece and a windbreaker, rather than one big heavy coat.

I agree about layers. Its hard to say what you may encounter.

The weather can change in an instant.
