casino payouts

Recommended Posts

It always seemed to me that on the first night of the cruise there are jackpots all over the place, with all the accompanying bells and whistles. However as the days go on, and they've lured you in, there are fewer big payouts. All I know is whenever we've made money it was at the beginning of the cruise.

I doubt they could change the payouts daily if they wanted to, but makes a nice conspiracy theory.

OTOH, what agencies regulate ship casinos and what they must payout?

There is the International Council of Cruise Line guidelines, but they aren't a regulating agency and participation is not mandatory. The casinos themselves are operated by third party vendors or a wholly owned subsidiary of the cruiseline. That is to say they are basically unregulated and no agency mandates a payout percentage.

FYI - many slots can be "changed out", or appear to be via simple programming. The top screen and the play area can be changed to a different game totally in a matter of minutes. Makes it look like a new game.

I am also sure they have a few "spare" machines in the back room as well that can be swapped out when a machine goes bad.

idk the last time i played on a slot on the Indy, i pop a 25p in and after some tries, I won over 350 USD... I thought it was a good payout.

I mean if a 25p per slot pull can give you a payout of 350 USD... I think it's a pretty good payout in my opinion.

My DW and I are not BIG gamblers, but we have enjoyed playing the slots on all of our past cruises. But on our recent Grandeur of the Seas cruise the casino was so TIGHT that is was just plain NOT fun!!!

Is it just us, or have the RCCL casinos been decreasing payouts steadily over the last few years?

We consider the casino and the money we allot there as part of our entertainment, but it isn't even entertaining when all you do is lose, lose, lose, and then when you do finally hit a bonus round the payout is so pathetic it just makes you MAD!!!!!

I was playing on a machine betting one dollar and went into a "bonus" round. The machine paid out a GRAND TOTAL of $4.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RCCL, we hope you are reading this!!!!!! We will cease to "play" in your casinos if things don't get better.

Texas, don't feel bad, on our last RCL cruise I hit 4 jackpots over a $1,000. and still lost enough to make the people in the casino club happy!:D

My wife only hits in the casino if I'm not there. Last week on the Enchantment I walked away for a few minutes and when I returned she showed me her ticket for over $1,100.00. Happens every time. Whenever she's in the casino, I go somewhere else.

That is funny....my husband and I are just the same. We got married in Vegas, and every time he went to take a nap, I would hit...and hit...and hit. He took a lot of naps ! haha

So we do the same whenever we are on a trip , and 9 times out of 10 it works lol.

One time on Radiance he went to the cabin to use the bathroom, and I decided to put two 20's into the video poker, max bet , second spin hit a royal flush. 4000 dollars later I walked to the cabin and put it on the bed ! He locked it in the safe and changed the combination haha !

It was 3 years ago in 2012, but we did a Marti Gras/ Cruise from NOLA on Voyager (7 nights). We were trying to be "tight" on money because we were spending a week in NOLA after we got off. We didn't have any tours or anything booked, we decided just to stay on the boat.

We went to the Casino with just $20 a piece I believe it was, just to have a bit of fun. We weren't even there 30 minutes when I hit the jackpot (on slots, I can't remember which game.. I have pictures I'd have to go looking for it)! I can't remember now how much exactly I won, but it was few hundred... enough that we booked the Dolphin Experience and had the time of our lives.

I was in awe seeing all the coins. Not sure how they do it now, but they traded the coins for bills and we ended up with a bunch of cash, which we put in the bank when we got off the boat.

We may have been lucky but it was awesome :D.

Just looked over the pictures it was $185 and I had played just 11 quarters. It was a game called Triple Stars.
