Does anyone know if the AFL Grand Final will be televised by Celebrity in the Mediterranean?

The AFL Grand Final will be televised on

Fox Sport 2

or

Fox Soccer Plus.

Does Celebrity have either of these channels?

I would say no. You are on an American ship and your are cruising the Mediterranean. I am certain they would haven't heard of the AFL. Don't forget it is only played here in Australia and is definitely not an international game....

No, Celebrity has never carried those channels. They carry ESPN, and sometimes Sky Sports.

Remember this is my opinion. It is a mix of soccer, rugby and men jumping on top of each other to catch a football It is played in some states of Australia and in Victoria it is like a religion. I have never understood the game and I am not a follower. Give me soccer anytime - just waiting for all the responses from the Victorians

I asked the same question as we are on a Cruise on Solstice in Hawaii on Grand Final Day. Answer is no way of knowing until youre on the ship but you may be better off buying the AFL app and watching it on wifi if you can afford it!

I think there would be a good chance of seeing it. I have seen AFL games on two Celebrity cruises. Once on a Hong Kong to Singapore cruise it was shown on the TV in the cabin. The reception was a bit scratchy though. On a Mediterranean cruise we were walking through the casino and they had a game showing in there. Wish we had known it was on earlier as only saw about the last 10 minutes.

But where else in the world is AFL played?

The same could be said for American football. Soccer huge internationally, just not Australia although some great players have come from here.

Think you are mixing up Cricket with Football. Struggling to remember one 'Great' Australian footballer , or an English one for that matter - maybe Gordon Banks at a push.

Whilst currently oz cricket is as bad as us , if not slightly worse you did have some truly great players . Warne , McGrath, Ponting , Lillee to mention just a few.

I was referring to great Australian international Soccer players.

Are you serious I am mixing up cricket with football? I don't even know where to start if you were.

AFL? Forgive a Yank for asking:D

Australian Football League :) our "national" sport, although it's much more popular in some states that others, as in NSW & QLD Rugby is generally more popular. Played with an oval ball, the aim is to kick the ball between 2 goal posts at one end of the field to score 6 points. If you kick it through the outside point posts, it's 1 point. The only sport in the world where they reward you for trying :P It's full contact (with no padding) and very athletic, AFL players are considered some of the fittest professional sports players in the world.

My old mate Craig Johnson seemed to go pretty well at the round ball game with Liverpool.

No, in Australia footballers play AFL football.

In Australia Soccer players play soccer.

The list of British soccer players is immense. I really have no idea what you are talking about.

You used the the term ' great'. IMHO there hasnt been any Oz or Brit greats at football ( or soccer as you seem to call it)

FIFA is the world body for football - no mention of 'Soccer'. AFL , NFL Rugby Union are all derivatives of Football.
