I have discovered Monarch of the Glen so Scotland now goes on the list. Actually, it's always been on the list. I just need to learn to drink Scotch. Not a favorite of mine.

Like most chains there can be some inconsistency, but overall I would say that there are many more goods ones than bad.

 

Sorry I think the opposite. I've tried a few Weatherspoons randomly across the UK in my travels and there is NO pub that I have liked. The ones in Southampton are very poor and typical of the chain. The last time I was in one in Southampton (this time last year) my feet were sticking to the carpet, you know that squelching sound....:D.

The one in town(Standing order) is OK,

London road(Giddy bridge) was well past refurb time but not been for a few years.

 

not been to the other 2(3) in the Southampton area.

We didn't like the one on town either I'm afraid. Sorry inside cabin! Thought it was grubby. Maybe we're too fussy :D

If you stick to the front section it is passable

 

Not as nice as the counting house in Glasgow or the one we went to on George street I think it was the standing order.

 

They let a lot of them go too far before refurb,

When going into a pub for the first time, the tradition is to go to the bar, and shout ''Everyone have a drink on me''. You will immediately be the focus of attention and find lots of new friends.
