Jo and Rob Posted September 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2015 Hi all, We are on Anthem of the Seas next Easter and wondered if Royal Caribbean will acknowledge the 3 cruises that we have taken on Celebrity. We have cruised Royal Caribbean once before (our Allure of the Seas didn't count) so will be on the most basic level if that. Will we get any benefits at all? CORKY_Q Posted September 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2015 Hi all, We are on Anthem of the Seas next Easter and wondered if Royal Caribbean will acknowledge the 3 cruises that we have taken on Celebrity. We have cruised Royal Caribbean once before (our Allure of the Seas didn't count) so will be on the most basic level if that. Will we get any benefits at all? The quick answer is no; cruise points from one do not accrue w/ points from the other. However, if you achieve Elite status w/ X, then you get to enjoy the benefits of a Diamond RCI if on a RCI cruise. Conversely, an RCI Diamond enjoys X Elite status.:)
sddsddean Posted September 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2015 (edited) No, they don't count. I assume though that you have joined Celebrity scheme (Captains Club) so they will count towards that. There are reciprocal schemes though, so if you are Diamond on RCI (which we are), you get reciprocally Elite on Celebrity (which is very handy!). Very good for us if we are on the Eclipse out of Southampton...or any other Celeb ship worldwide for that matter! FLACRUISER99 Posted September 6, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2015 No "X" points do not count for C & A. However they will give you equivalent recognition. If you are Select on "X" you will be Platinum on RCI

Hi Jo, alas as others have said points don't accrue. Are you a Captains club member? If are select, you will have reciprocal rights as platinum but unfortunately this doesn't apply to classic/gold levels. Hope you're all keeping well! Eng23 Posted September 6, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 6, 2015 No. You can only earn Crown & Anchor points by sailing on Royal Caribbean. Royal will honor and give you equivalent status as your level in Celebrity's loyalty program when sailing on a Royal Caribbean ship.

Celebrity points do not count towards Royal Caribbean's loyalty program. You are correct in that you will have reciprocal benefits if at the appropriate level in each lines programs. fredflint Posted September 6, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 6, 2015 Each line keeps track of their own points and whichever is higher is what you will get but if you have 20 cruise days total 15 on Celebrity and 5 on RCI you will be at the the level for 15 cruise days on Celebrity but they don't add the cruise days from RCI onto your Celebrity days. levels also don't add so select + Platinum does not equal anything. You will get the highest level for the level you have for either cruise line but they don't combine. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/customersupport/faq/details.do?pagename=frequently_asked_questions&faqId=971&faqSubjectId=

You only get equivalent status benefits once you reach Select on Celebrity. Since you are still Classic, you will receive neither points nor status recognition on Royal Caribbean based on your Celebrity Captain's Club level. Since you are already Gold in Crown & Anchor, this cruise will add points to THAT total. Edited September 6, 2015 by Merion_Mom
Jo and Rob Posted September 6, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted September 6, 2015 Thank you for the swift replies. Unfortunately as we use a variety of cruise lines it takes much longer to reap the benefits!

Indeed. ;) But you get the "benefit" of variety! Or, as my mother always said, "Variety is the spice of life!!!" :)

bearette Posted September 6, 2015 #13 Share Posted September 6, 2015 We have done the same, it took ten years to reach Diamond on Royal though I have do e over twenty cruises. It was great when we did our first diamond level cruise because it was actually as an elite on Celebrity. As it was my first celebrity cruise we we laughed about it because we had benefits. I believe the reason they do that is in case you want something different you will try one of their products. It worked for us. It still works out mostly for the company.
