New Itin - Cuba?

Found this on CNN about Verizon. Towards the end it says that Carnival is considering cruises to Cuba next year. Something new or did the reporter get it wrong and is talking about Fathom? Interesting use of the word 'considering'.

I believe Carnival announced this some months ago

But fathom is a done deal. It's that word 'considering' that has me wondering.

(Maybe I'm reading too much into this, too many lawyers in the family.)

Happy to see the culture of Cuba but will wait until pricing is reasonable.

Looks like cruise companies just got the clearance they were looking for. Should expect to see port stops sooner on most major lines I would imagine.

Would love to cruise to Cuba. There is so much culture to see and the people are wonderful. Our friends from England go there frequently and love the sights, sounds, flavors, people. It is so very close to us....how awesome when we are able to go.

That would without a doubt be on my list. My boyfriend is Cuban and second generation here in America, so it would be amazing for him to see the place where is father, grandparents and family grew up. I am closely following this on :-)

It would be a welcome addition and 3-4 days out of Florida. I love cruising, but Costa Maya, Cozumel and Nassua are not that exciting anymore.

I've already looked at existing sailings, but they are on rather small, old ships and rather expensive. I was really tempted by 1 itinerary, it just circumnavigated Cuba with about 5 or 6 different ports after leaving from Jamaica.

 

Our Canadian friends have been going there for years, and I've heard great stories about their visits. I just think it would be wonderful to see Cuba as it is now, before Carnival builds its shopping corrals there.

I'm looking forward to visiting Cuba someday, but want to get there before it changes too much. I do not want to see golden arches and KFC signs there.

I'm looking forward to itineraries with Cuba. I would go. I love to see new places and get a sampling of their history and culture.
