Got the promo from my TA and there's a lot of OBC between the TA & RCL. However, not worthwhile for me because it's for new booking and the balcony discount is not applicable, plus higher posted cruise fares.

This would be an example of when I would like to still have the courtesy hold. In the past you could book it but you still had to call to get the reduced deposit since RCL's crack IT team can't seem to program it to accept the reduced amount.

 

Now you will have to call and go thru the entire booking process with them. Just seems to take up everyone's time unnecessarily.

True, and because it won't be flagged as a web booking, you will lose some functionality, like being able to switch staterooms, etc.
