luvbluseas Posted January 22, 2017 #351 Share Posted January 22, 2017 We exit the casino and, having a look back, you can see The JavaBlue Cafe/The Shake Spot, computers to access the internet (The Funhub) and a slight portion of the Taste Bar. Directly where I am standing is also where Anytime Dining guests check in. In other words if you elect to not have a specific dinner time, and eat when it works well for you, this is where you head. They will give you a pager which will notify you when your table it ready. Standing in the same spot, but instead of looking forward, I am now looking aft. We can see the Alchemy Bar on the left and the Ocean Plaza Stage on the right. There is also a small counter right in front of me. That's where the Fun Finds Shopping expert can be found. His name was Gemstone John and he was quite the character. You can see the walkway in the picture above goes both straight and to the right. Let's head to the right and go into the Red Frog Pub. The Red Frog Pub does serve food…but not on the Sunshine, which is kinda weird. Here’s the inside. It was pretty nice with a Key West vibe to it. There was usually a solo guitarist here each night. They also played beer pong in here a few days as well. No surprise, there was always a good turn out for that. Any idea what the hours are of the "Java Blue" Coffee Cafe on most ships? cricketskids Posted January 23, 2017 #354 Share Posted January 23, 2017 luvtocruz59 I promise I will pray they get their act together on that ship and improve a lot before I would ever consider sailing with them. 2xsin12mths Posted April 6, 2017 #358 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Just found this awesome review. We are leaving in 30 days and I am so excited. I sailed Destiny a few years ago. I'm sure a few things have changed since you wrote the review but amazing pics and THE FOOD! Wow! Thanks!
CAPERDUO Posted May 30, 2017 #359 Share Posted May 30, 2017 Thank you for your post. It was extremely helpful. So full of information, answering every question I had. It is by far the BEST I've ever read. Thank you again. We sail Feb 2018.
dcsetman Posted June 7, 2017 #360 Share Posted June 7, 2017 No, the soda machine is separate. You will have to purchase those outside of your soda package. Thanks! Enjoy your cruise:D It's June 2017 now and just reading your review - you did a terrific job. Thank you for your in-depth insight and sharing. We leave out on the week of Dec 1, 2017, long time cruise - first time on the Sunshine. This is so helpful. Dennis and Penni
Djptcp Posted June 7, 2017 #361 Share Posted June 7, 2017 Loved the review and photos. However, since it's an older review I should mention that DH and I just returned from the Paradise and the Room Service menu now has many fewer items. No more shrimp salad on a roll nor the strip steak on a roll. Those were my favorite lunch items on previous Carnival cruises:* Maybe the Sunshine still has the larger menu? Also didn't include the pay items now on the Room Service menu. Oh well, we're still looking forward to our Dec. Sunshine cruise!

I have shared this review on a couple other websites, it is a terrific review of the Sunshine. I must admit I have read it a couple times !! Thank you so much for it !! This review is also one of the main reasons I booked the Sunshine. :D
Raxter54 Posted June 11, 2017 #365 Share Posted June 11, 2017 I went on this cruise nearly two years ago and it's still held up as one of my favorites. Enjoy! Like you, I'm worried about what to do in Aruba, since we arrive at 1 PM. Want to take the bus to Arashi Beach (NW side of island) to do some snorkeling, but wanted to get back in time to do some shopping. Guess we'll play it by ear... teacher34 Posted July 9, 2017 #366 Share Posted July 9, 2017 I know I am very late reading this review and in fact, most of the pictures are no longer visible, but I thoroughly enjoyed the review. We will be sailing an 8 day cruise on the Sunshine in March of 2018. I also had some reservations ,because I had read negative things about this ship. Now, I am totally excited and feel like we will have a great time ! I saw on your signature you were going to take a cruise on the Vista in 2017. I hope you will do a review of that cruise. I learned so much from this review. Thank you for all your time and effort doing this.

I learned so much from this review. Thank you for all your time and effort doing this. Glad you liked it! Yes, most of the pictures were taken down by Photo Bucket this past week. They no longer allow file sharing to other websites without a paying membership. The first set of photos on this review were part of an account I pay for, the 2nd half was part of a free account I was using. At $400 per year, I personally do not see the value, so for the time being it looks like only the first half of this review will have photos :( I was on the Vista in 2016- It was very enjoyable but to be honest I'm not sure if it was because I stayed in the Havana, the fact that the cruise was 11 days, or that the Vista was just that great. I had a wonderful time. But unfortunately, no review for that cruise. The amount of time that went into this Sunshine review was extensive and now it's kinda like, what for? Most of the pictures are not viewable and the review will soon become obsolete....:loudcry:

KandCsailing Posted July 25, 2017 #370 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Is it just me or are pictures no longer available on this post. I sure would like to see them. If it's me, please tell me how to fix and see them. I don't think someone reading the post can do anything to reveal the photos. It's all related to the poster's Photobucket account. It's because Photobucket now changed their rules and want people to pay for a higher membership to be able to post links on 3rd party outside sites. See post 367 by the original poster above. Other choices to post photos are: to pay to upgrade photobucket, use another storage host website like Flickr (I haven't checked it lately though) or I can post directly from my tablet using the mountain symbol (never worked with my laptop for me). Probably others I don't know about.

GeorgiaMomof4 Posted August 14, 2018 #372 Share Posted August 14, 2018 Great review! I didn't realize it was 4 years old until I got into it. Hubby and I are sailing on the Sunshine on this very same itinerary in February 2019. We are in cabin 5244 which is next door to the one you were in. He has some mobility issues - this will be our first handicap accessible cabin, our first aft view, our first Southern itinerary and our first 8 day cruise. We are so excited! Leaving all 6 kids at home and it will just be the 2 of us! I'm hoping the cabin and balcony are as big as some pictures I've seen. If so, I certainly plan on being out on the balcony quite a bit. I know you did mention it was extremely hot out there at times but did you notice if there were certain times or day or maybe even going down or traveling back that were more optimum times to spend on the aft balconies? I'm a sun worshipper, but husband isn't. I've been concerned as well about not arriving into Aruba until 1 pm. Do you have any tips to offer that might help us to get the most of our day. I'm assuming since it will be February the sun will be going down about 6 or so, so that won't leave very much time for sun and the beach. Thanks again for the review. I've done several and they are VERY time consuming.
