wallie5446 Posted September 29, 2015 #26 Share Posted September 29, 2015 Here is another question: what does "entitled" mean? As in, Elite level pax are ENTITLED to free laundry because they earned their way to Elite. Conversely, if they did not earn their way to Elite, they are NOT ENTITLED to Elite perks. I find it ironic that a person not entitled to use these coupons would remove them from a bible and use them dishonestly. Even more disgusting that someone would penalize the room steward for doing the right thing. Ugh. Am I lecturing you? You bet I am. You need it. CC Administrators, where is the 'LIKE' button? Bottom line, this is the definition of why the rest of the world has disdain for us in the West. Am I too lecturing? You bet I am. WE need it. It seems that the only thing that is frowned upon is someone who dares to suggest that being unethical is wrong. copmom1384 Posted September 29, 2015 #28 Share Posted September 29, 2015 Don't know how they do it but they have some way of keeping track. You can get Elite coupons in a suite. We have had no trouble with free internet and laundry. So do Suite passengers get free laundry even if they are not Elite?
Snit13 Posted September 29, 2015 #29 Share Posted September 29, 2015 We are Elite+ and most of the coupons we receive are torn in half and placed in the cabin waste basket. Would not think of leaving them in bible for a non Elite to use. We do use specialty drink, wine, and laundry coupons. Tried the casino coupons but luck was not with me so they too go in trash. Would share with another Elite if they enjoyed the casion or bingo. Not a lawyer, just a retired educator. Grace

gimletgal Posted September 29, 2015 #32 Share Posted September 29, 2015 If my room steward made any derogatory move regarding using coupons then any prospect of a gratuity at the end of the cruise would be gone and that steward be guaranteed an adverse report on the post cruise report. One must remember that the post cruise report has a big impact on future employment. So what you're saying is that since your cabin steward knows what your Captain's Club status is, and you try and use a coupon that does not apply to your status, you would take away his gratuity and give him and "adverse report" because he is doing his job the way he was trained to do it and having you charged what should rightfully be charged?? I must be dumb, because I just don't get the thought process behind that!
k9x8 Posted September 30, 2015 #33 Share Posted September 30, 2015 It really cheeses me when folks think it's OK to scam the system, whether it's leaving behind laundry coupons or handing off drink vouchers to non-Elite friends. As my mama always said, whether it's 10 cents or $1000, it's stealing. This hurts us all in the long run. By the time I reach Elite, it will take a retina scan to use the benefits. Seriously, penalising someone for following the rules... that's low.
6502programmer Posted October 1, 2015 #35 Share Posted October 1, 2015 I wish Celebrity would adopt the system of loading loyalty benefits onto the seapass card. No, you don't! Remember: This would put your coupons in the hands of the same brain trust that runs the web site. :)

Remember: This would put your coupons in the hands of the same brain trust that runs the web site. :) Well, they did it with the internet coupons, and by some miracle they managed to get that right. We can now set up our internet accounts very easily right in our own cabin at our own convenience and no longer need to go to the lab to scan our seapass cards or turn in the coupons. With the myriad of problems on their dreadful computer system, I figure it is only fair to give them credit when they occasionally get something right. :D

2Fltravelers Posted October 1, 2015 #38 Share Posted October 1, 2015 I think  I remember :D from our last cruise that the coupons had the sailing date they are good on, printed on them. That is correct. They are only valid for the cruise dates. They expire the day you disembark.
Wine-O Posted October 1, 2015 #39 Share Posted October 1, 2015 That is correct. They are only valid for the cruise dates. They expire the day you disembark. That's the spirit and intent. Bottom line, there are no dates on the Elite coupons -- only on the elite 5-7 happy hour coupons.
