DFW or LAX to Sydney?

Yes, economy

When your in an aircraft the humidity is 4%.. and 8000 ft cabin pressure. and the longer your in that atmosphere the more it takes a toll on your body. And in coach youget the least fresh air on the plane

This is along haul that you need to break up....I would welcome a 1 to 2 hour connection or even better an8-12 hour connection in LAX for the remaining 14hours to give your body some recovery time

Even in business or first class experienced business travelers try to break up a long haul east to west flight... Its a rough route... the new 787 is anexception as it has 14-17% humidity and 6000 ft cabin. Anyother plane is going to kick your rear in any class...economy the worst

Break up thetrip you get a free stop-over one way.....use it.

(One last curiousity to post -- while playing with the mapper, I noticed that BOS is only 510 miles further from HKG than LAX.)

A retired AA 777 pilot friend said that LHR is 6 miles farther from LAX than NRT....coincidences of geography!

We booked through Choice Air (considerably less $) AA from Raleigh to Dallas then Dallas to Sydney (co-chair on Qantas). In doing all the research this was the best route and fare for us. In addition to the fare being less with Choice Air, if there's a problem they'll get us to Sydney.

If you book through the airline and there's a problem, they'll get you to Sydney as well.

Depending on the exact ticket you have, booking through Choice Air may make it MORE difficult to get to Sydney if there is a problem. Have you read the actual terms for Choice Air, not just the marketing blurb?

But hey....it was cheaper!

Also glad that Qantas got a promotion to equal partner as a co-chair.
