Buying drink package on last day!

Just got off the Enchantment yesterday and was really suprised they were selling drink packages for the last day. Around 9:00 am a couple walked up to the bar as soon as it opened. They asked about buying it and the bar tender gave them their package options. They made their chooice and they purchased for the one day.

 

We were also on the Coco Cay and they had the drink package brochures out on the bar if someone still wanted to purchase.

 

I was suprised because all the threads on this topic indicated that this was not possible.

I think it's another policy that each ship can do their own way, but I suspect that not many sell a one-day package. Not surprised that EN would do it.

Maybe they did it because their beverage sales were behind their estimates. I read once, that NCL tracks this daily and makes adjustments during cruise to increase sales if lagging.

 

I would think Royal for sure is tracking sales daily.

I know they advertise one thing and do another (go figure). In March on Oasis they were selling packages at the pool bar past day five and maybe later (I just to recall).

Last winter, I forgot which ship, but they even had it in the Compass for a 2 day special (on the last 2 sea days) at a discounted price.

We've found (saw onboard twice recently) you can not only buy drink packages as the cruise days go by...but internet time as well...yes...even for the last day.

I experienced this on rhapsody. $46 per day for premium. Last three days, I think.
