MAKE HIM SHARE!..Geez! Us women do ALL the work and get none of the credit!

 

I'll go as far as to say you don't get as much credit as you deserve. Fair enough? :-) As for the question, I really am confused by it, but maybe I'm missing something. I can't imagine a couple happy enough with each other to go on vacation together, and yet one not willing to share with the other. I would be thrilled if my wife got OBC, even if I didn't. It's share and share alike for us. She is platinum, while I'm still one cruise short of it. It doesn't bother me in the least. I get the same perks she does, so who cares which name is attached? But like I said, maybe I'm missing an important point and there is a legitimate reason why the OP wants the OBC in her name. Oh! Or maybe it's that she wants the same amount of OBC he got, which would double the amount. Maybe the OP will clear this up for us.

I am on the sailing with my daughter. My husband is not going. He doesnt fly well.

 

It's a $200 obc and two category upgrade for the sailing I'm on. It came to our address with his name on it. I am booked ES but the price is a bit higher right now.

Oh, okay! That makes sense. I wish I had advice for you. I hope you somehow get this worked out to your benefit. There are many here more knowledgeable than me on CC, regarding booking strategy and rules. I'm sure someone will chime in with helpful advice.

Unfortunately the named person on the offer has to be present. Not any different than special offers from the Casino, named person has to be present. My daughter is platinum and her husband has gotten several different offers with reduced or free fares (not casino related cause they don't gamble) and she doesn't understand it either but it's no big deal in her case cause she's also on the cruise with him.

Ya, it has to be in your name or your offer so to speak. For example, my husband gets casino rates but not me. So, unfortunately..jk..I have to cruise with him to get that rate.

Hey Towel Critter! I was totally joking. Sorry, I'm a bit loopy today. My sense of humor is a bit "overboard"..pun intended. We've been joking around on some of the other threads today too.

I got that you were joking. Not a problem at all. I replied as I did, because I honestly believe some - maybe most - women don't get enough credit for all they do. Perhaps I should have worded it differently. :)

Darn darn darn...... Thanks for the replies... It just kind of seems unfair. I've sailed with carnival more than my husband.

 

Yep, that's a bummer. I suspected you wouldn't be able to take advantage, but wasn't sure enough to offer my thoughts. Maybe next time you'll get an offer. Enjoy your cruise! :)

We have gotten those offers too. Hubby plays slots and I play tables. So all the deals come in his name and he doesn't always want to go. But he HAS to be one of the passengers if its in his name. Hope this helps.

It doesn't work like that as it's attached to his VIFP number. As soon as he's taken off the reservation, his discount/OBC/upgrade is removed and you will be repriced at the current rate. I also see you are booked ES and no name changes are allowed anyway.

Not gonna work. The offer is attached to his VIFP #. Once he goes, so goes the offer. Just put it out of your mind and be on the lookout for your own offer. You may get one. I got a special rate out of the blue last year. My husband didn't get it. We've been on every cruise together. Go figure.

Exactly. The OBC wasn't sent to her it was sent to the DH so he has to be present for her to use it. Makes total sense.

 

We are going on a Christmas cruise because the DH and DS each got a great Casino promotion...I got zip. But I totally benefit from it because I'm cruising with the DS and DH. The DS is taking a friend who will also benefit from it. Also each of them are getting $100 OCB...which I'm keeping for myself...LOL! Actually we're applying the OBCs to dinner in the steakhouse my choice) and what's left will be put towards excursions that we'll take together as a family (also my choice). So for me it's a win-win situation.
