Rare MicCanberra Posted November 7, 2015 #26 Share Posted November 7, 2015 Hmmm that doesn't sound good :(Have you been on Radiance or Rhapsody? How do the bar areas compare to these? No I haven't cruised on those ships so cannot compare. Aussies like to sit around in bars and cafe's so we found the bar areas too small and too hard to get a table. They need to stop the art auctions that take up the larger lounge areas.

The Schooner Bar and R Bar too? Yes not a fan of the art auctions either.
Hazydavo Posted November 7, 2015 Author #28 Share Posted November 7, 2015 The sports bar and "pub" bars are normally pretty packed. Did they still have a champagne bar?

You could check out the Paihia webcam.. .http://www.tourism.net.nz/listing/nztg/visitor-information/109738?from=http://www.tourism.net.nz/region/northland/northland---bay-of-islands/paihia/visitor-information/web-cams/other-listings/

Rare MicCanberra Posted November 8, 2015 #36 Share Posted November 8, 2015 Normally Waitangi and then free shuttles to Pahia but as David says, with two ships in the bay, perhaps they may go to Russell instead.

Ok thanks. Just wondering where we might tender with Explorer in Dec. Is there a nice beach for swimming nearby these places? Couldn't get into BoI on our first cruise due to bad weather so this will (hopefully) be our first time there.

If you do the walk betwen Waitangi and Paihia...15/20 minutes , you pass a couple of lovely beaches.
