The newest tile shows the Nw AMSTERDAM departing Venice.

The image on the tiles are based on my paintings. The factory have to redesign the images to make the tiles. With this one it was a problem because it shows the buildings in the Canal and also this should be a moonlit night!

I noticed that as well.

Don't know why we only see the hyphen on the tiles.

On this website; http://tonrijppaert.nl/en/mariner-collection/ you can see, for whatever reason, the hyphen was introduded on the tiles in 2007!

and also;

http://www.hollandamericaline.us/tiles/mariner-tiles.html but the new ones are not yet listed here!

Do you know and or are you allowed to share that information, if there will be a special tile for the inaugural season of Koningsdam next year?

Thank you

I would still like to know it was suddenly put on the tiles.

I have no idea.

I can just envision a situation where the tiles are painted and while painting, the artist shouts, “with or without hyphen?” and someone in the back doesn’t know either, but just shouts “with hyphen” and there it was…:D

It seems the hyphen was added on the 2012 tiles.

No idea why. You can guarantee that t was not just a 'mistake'. Every details is approved in Seattle and unlikely that it was just a 'mistake'.

If you go back.... to the beginning of the company the hyphen was always used in artworks, posters etc. This was even used right through the 1970s. The hyphen was dropped in the 1980s and now used again on tiles in 2012.
