RCCI "bump out balcony"

Is there a pro and/or con to the bump out balconies on the RCCI ships that have them? We are booked in one on Navigator.

Bump outs are larger and can be partially less private if they are angled. Other than that, I think they are about the same as other balconies.

FYI...they're called hump cabins. :)

 

The advantage is, the view is a little better because of your views up and down the ship. Also, they are right at the aft elevators/stairs, so convenient. Center hump is best. If you get right on the corners where the hump starts and ends, the balcony is bigger, but you have less privacy.

On this ship, they are no larger than any other cabin of the same category. The PRO is location...very convenient,! It's only on Radiance class that has larger balconies on the edge of the hump...not on Voyager or Freedom class.

On the flip side, if your cabin is next to or close to one of these cabins, your beautiful view alongside the ship and of the ocean ahead or behind is replaced by.... a hump. 😕

We had a cabin in the middle of the hump on Serenade of the Seas. The view was awesome!

Same, we had a hump cabin on the Indy and absolutely love it.

 

If you want to take the hump, take the middle ones, where you can have a view of either side of the ship, front and back unlike the rest of the normal cabins.
