Fish66 Posted November 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2015 I'm going to New Zealand 0n the Golden Princess on February 11th 2016 I am BIG tea drinker ( not herbal just black tea) Just wondering if anyone knows if the tea is nice or crappy and should I take my own teabags?? I would be devastated if the tea is crap as I'm pretty much a Twinnings and Lipton girl Thanks in advance [emoji3]
cb at sea Posted November 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) They have both! Or, something really similar...no worries...that's all my hubby drinks, too! (BTW, "herbal" teas aren't tea...it's swill!) Edited November 11, 2015 by cb at sea
Wastegirl Posted November 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Just done the Diamond Princess and plenty of tea on board in the buffet, including Twinings English breakfast. Much better than Celebrity who on both my cruises with them ran out of decent tea half way through the cruise
clairebearinaus Posted November 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2015 Yes there were wooden boxes with a good selection of black and herbal teas in the buffet a couple of weeks ago. I can't give you an ironclad guarantee but I'm fairly sure Twinings was there. Plus the International Cafe served pots of tea, there were a few varieties. I think you'll be ok. I was on deck 12 so just popped up s flight of stairs to the buffet whenever I felt like it, and brought my tea back to my cabin.
dorisis Posted November 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2015 Princess also serves an afternoon tea with small sandwiches and pastries in one of the dining rooms. Casual dress is fine. If you buy a coffee card they have specialty teas which do not require a punch to the card. This is usually at the international café. 24 hours a day. Rare Keith1010 Posted November 13, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2015 I in doubt bring your own. Remember the only opinion that counts is your own. Keith
GUT2407 Posted November 13, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2015 On Diamondnow, they have twinnings and Lipton and numerous others. But if you're real fussy bring a box.
navybankerteacher Posted November 13, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 13, 2015 I've found Twining's on Cunard, Princess, Celebrity, HAL and RCI - but only Cunard had a really wide selection - including Lapsang; so, if you are choosy, it is a good idea to bring a stash of your own. A few weeks' supply takes up minimal space and negligible weight.
Enforcer Posted November 13, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 13, 2015 Hi, If you are considering bringing your own Tea bags check it's OK to take them into New Zealand. It may be OK to take an unopened box but maybe not if you take a ziplock bag with some in. Pete PS You can't beat a good brew :)
Rare John Bull Posted November 13, 2015 #10 Share Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) You've had some encouraging responses about the included tea on your ship. :) Pretty similar on virtually all ships. If you had asked about the included coffee, the responses would have been much less encouraging. Pretty similar on virtually all ships Unless you enjoy drinking mud, take your own coffee and use the hot-water boiler. Or buy a decent cup of coffee. Or stick to tea. ;) JB :) Edited November 13, 2015 by John Bull
