Panama Canal ???

I had hoped for a canal transit when the Miracle was scheduled to do the charter cruise, but now the Pride is doing it. What do you think the chances of Carnival having a canal transit by 2017 are? I am wondering if I need to look at other cruise lines. My husband is leaning toward a canal transit for his retirement cruise in 2017. (I chose Hawaii for my retirement cruise.)

I enjoy a Carnival cruise as much as the the next guy, but for a retirement cruise of the Panama Canal, I would go with another cruise line. We cruised the Panama Canal a few years ago on Princess Cruises and it was fantastic. Princess, even with the various cuts in service that all the cruise lines are doing, is still a classy operation.
