We have taken several cruises over Thanksgiving. Decorating started as we left the ship.

A couple of years ago they had people board the ship at the first port after Thanksgiving and decorate the ship.

Princess uses independent contractors (not the crew) to do their Christmas decorations. Normally, they begin as soon as possible after Thanksgiving.

So if the cruise begins on Wednesday, the 25th (Thanksgiving on the 26th) and the next port stop isn't until Nov. 30, when do you think they will decorate the ship?

I'm bringing decorations for our cabin. We did this a few years ago and it was really fun! You'll have to come over and see them. Since we'll be home less than 2 weeks before Christmas, I want to feel "in the spirit" while we're on vacation. :D

I agree, just came into Houston on Sunday from a cruise and Houston already had up Christmas decorations on their streets, it was weird!

My sister and I did a transatlantic three years ago over Thanksgiving, it seemed they decorated overnight after turkey day and then added to them all week. Beautiful!

That would be a nice, long cruise for them since we have so many sea days before we arrive in Hawaii. Hmmm, maybe I should get into the ship holiday decorating business. Heck, I'd do it for free. :D
