Can someone please provide a list of the dining options that Re available on the Coral Princess? I've seen specialty restaurants mentioned on the Princess website with the disclaimer that "venues vary by ship and are subject to change". We don't want to get our hopes up to try a place (e.g. Vines Wine Bar) when it won't be on the Coral. Thanks for your help

Just off the Coral recently. Coral has Horizon Court all the way forward on Lido deck. There are 2 MDRs in the center of the ship, decks 5 & 6. 1 traditional, 1 Anytime. In addition, there is Sabatini's and the Bayou Cafe. Aft I believe deck 6 or maybe 7. At lunch time Alfredo's Pizza menu (short version) is offered. Crab Shack (held in a portion of Horizon Court) is likely to be available 2 or 3 times during a cruise. Coral DOES NOT have a Crown Grill or Sterling. Oooooh, I almost forgot Coral has a small (limited) version of the International Cafe with coffee bar near the casino.

Thanks so much for the dining summary. Are there specific MDR that are assigned for Traditional and Anytime dining? How do we know which DR to go to for dinner? We are currently signed up for ATD but I am having second thoughts about this and may change us to Traditional Dining.

The Princess patter has a guide in the last page to all of the dining and bar options. They give the hours for each venue and, in the case of the MDRs, what they serve-whenter it is anytime or traditional.

In addition, one of the MDRs is always open for breakfast every morning. Such is served on sea days and usually, on embarkation.

The dining room on deck 6 mid-ship is the Traditional dining room. The one on deck 5 is Anytime. However, a portion of the Anytime dining room is used for very early first seating and once cleared, those tables are Anytime.

No English Pub lunch?:(. I wonder if Sabatini's will still be there the end of January:confused:

We were on Coral in April and they did the English Pub lunch in Bayou Cafe one or two days during the cruise.

I'm so glad to hear that. I'm going with my niece and I've told her of all the dining options we usually find on Princess and she can't wait to try them all out. This will be her first Princess cruise.

This will be our second cruise together, She sees everything with new eyes and her excitement is contagious.

Sabatini's will be replaced by SHARE during the Coral's 01/16 to 01/30 drydock.

We're going on that 1/30 cruise. Not sure how I feel about SHARE. I only hope that the first outing will be problem free with great food. Since I'll be with my niece, she'll be excited to try something new, and her excitement always rubs off on me.:D

The coral was ordered in 2000, and sailed on her maiden voyage on 1/3/2003. She is 965 ft long, 91677 tones. She cost 330 million dollars to build. She and her sister the island princess are the only two panamax ships princess operates, thus she has a slightly smaller beam than the rest of the fleet. She was built primarily for cruises transiting the Panama canal and for Alaskan cruising. She is a great ship and has a smaller ship more intimate feel too her.

The deck plans presented by princess on their web page are accurate.

safe travels

Cheers

As impressive as it is to be able to rattle off these interesting statistics, I'm see no connection to the OP's question about dining options on CORAL PRINCESS. Perhaps you're responding to the incorrect thread?

We had the Pub lunch several times last month on the Coral.

Its held in the Bayou.

Sabatinis will not be there anymore after mid January. Dry dock around the 16th to rip it out and put in place the new dining venue.

We love the Bayou Cafe and dine there several times on a cruise. We have the Cajun dishes on our first couple of meals there. After that we will have the filet mignon with the lobster tail. We noticed that the lobster tails served at the Bayou Cafe are twice the size of those served in the main dining room or the Crown Grill but you do have to pay $5 extra to get the lobster.

If you want to try something different, you can get real gator ribs at the Bayou Café. I tried them last year and thought they were just OK. A bit dry - kind of tasted like pork. It was fun to try them. My rib eye was fantastic.
