Formal Nights

Hi,

 

We have just booked our ever first cruise and its on Independence of the Seas. Its a 7 night Spain and France trip leaving from Southampton.

 

Where can I find out how many formal nights there will be, and am I able to find out what nights they will be on in advance, or do I have to wait until we board to get that information.

 

Very much looking forward to this cruise, and hoping this one will be the first of many!

There should be two formal nights on your cruise.

 

The first will be night #2.

 

The second should be night #5, after I found your itinerary. ;)

Merion Mom hit it on the head - for future reference, 7-night cruises on Royal almost always have two formal nights.

Thats great, thank you. We are at sea on day 2 and day 5 so I guessed they would probably be the formal nights!

Thanks for the updates. In regards to how "formal" a "formal" night is, there really does seem to be a lot of differing opinions from various people I have spoken to.

My parents do at least one RCI cruise every year and they say the formal nights seem to be a lot less formal than they used to be, but they still like to get dressed up in their finery!!!!!

We will take formal clothes, as we have them, and see what the turnout is like on the first formal and take our guide from that!

Personally I like the formal dress but I can understand why people aren't so keen!!!!
