Price Drop?

We are sailing in February and have paid our final payment. My in laws are now considering going with us but after looking said it was a little more than they could afford right now. What are the chances or the prices dropping any more than they are at this time? Will they just keep going up or will they drop as it gets closer?

Look at the inventory left (on the RCI UK site) and perhaps the past prices (fish site). If there 40+ cabins in a category left and you are well above past prices, you will likely see some discounts in that category. About 60 days out start looking at the Tuesday special (http://www.creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Multi_Dest/Special_Offers/rci_sales_event.pdf) and check prices on Saturdays.

Can you tell me where to do this? I'm on the site, but don't see where I can find this.

Find the sailing you are looking for (filter by date (month), then by ship) and do a mock booking. All of the inventory (up to 50 cabins per category) will be listed. There will be the main 4 categories (suite, balcony, OV and interior) and then categories (D0-D8 for balconies) within those. It will be a simple list without an accompanying deck plan. You are looking for the number of cabins on that list.

So if I figured it our right there are just over 120 rooms left on the ship Vision of the seas. With that few for the whole ship do you think the price will probably stay the same?

My hunch is that it remains the same or goes down on the cabins that have the most inventory. They may actually increase some cabins based on a small inventory while discounting others. Also, once the final date is due, some cabins might be placed back on the market as some cruisers may cancel their reservation before final payment.

Each category is handled independently. If a category has lots of inventory, the price will probably go down.

This year, the same sailing (first week in Feb) was priced about the same. There were some drops in early Dec 2014 (about 60 days out). The L cabins seem to be left toward the end and the ones that get discounted. However, if affordability is an issue, the $200-400 you might save is not going to matter much.
