Actually calling someone lol life is a judgement, in what place is it not? I prefer Norwegian where people are fun and down to earth. I'm not a fan of the Pampas nose in the air mentality of other cruise lines.

Nonsense

If a person looks acts and dresses like a slob it is not a judgement to acknowledge that little fact.

Facts are facts and when they are obvious it is not a judgement to recognize that

Kool aid should be banned IMHO as its poisoning too many minds.

Yes but they party in suits with their pinkies prominently displayed in the air lol. Instead of skirts the old ladies wear evening gowns which come to think of it might be better lol.

For a chiropractor who presumably has a patient base and an office....you have absolutely no idea how you sound

Medical professionals should never say things like that

Do you judge your patients?

Aren't medical professionals supposed to be non judgmental?

Or were you just kidding or lying to us when you admitted to being a chiropractor?

I pride myself on being reasonable and logical so thank you

As far as class....well I dress nicely and never get drunk and haven't made a fool

Out of myself in public in many years. Lol. My kids are great in public too. Lol

Of course sometimes I can't help myself when responding to certain posters here though[emoji41]

For real?? No, I don't think so. Our buddy spelled pompous as pampas. Chiropractors are educated. If he is one, those poor little old ladies, I hope they wear long gowns so he's not grossed out.

I'm cyber Monday shopping at home today, and getting a real taste of the NCL forum. I'm glad to see they are not all the same....

You say you haven't made a fool out of yourself in years... Eluding to the fact you DID at one time... Dare I guess when you were younger? So, wouldn't it be fair to give some leeway to our younger counterparts? They might grow up to be just like you and evolve to a more reasonable and logical sort.

Yes in fact I fully encourage that.

You don't know....maybe he's really cute, and his shorts should be just as short as the dresses.

It was rather interesting to be waiting to get into Cagney's with other couples dressed nicely' date=' when along comes a few Joe 6-pack's in their shorts and flip flips. Low class for sure, but I guess that is the trend for cruising :([/quote']

This is seriously the biggest problem in society today. Judging other people for whatever reason. Either they have a difference of opinion, or they prefer to eat differently, or dress differently, or they're born different.

In this case, you can certainly describe somebody as wearing shorts & flip flops (by the way, if I ever felt like there WAS a difference between 'male' flip flops, I'd start wearing them to prove a point, though I've never worn them before). But to 'deem' it low class is inappropriately judgmental.

And I know how to spell pompous, alluding, and paradigm. :) (sorry to the poster who typo'd on alluding. :) )

I am the only person who gets their career brought up on these threads. My professional life is nobody's business and I would appreciate you staying out of it. Thank you.

No. Sorry. Wrong. As someone else noted, it is NOT a judgement when I call out certain individuals as low-life's. It's is an observation based on fact. And the fact is that they were drunk, disorderly and obnoxious. I could tell the Maitre D' was nervous about even seating them, without causing a scene or having them start a fight. And those seated near us all breathed a sigh of relief when the "low-life" gang were seated far on the other side.

I can almost count on one hand the number of blazers I see on men at night. I'd say the majority wear polo type shirts and khakis, but you see all extremes. You will see 10 times the amount of shorts as blazers.

Or as I like in the Caribbean, blazer, starched polo, and shorts (pressed kaki or seersucker) and dress shoes sans socks(the horror). Send to the cleaners after a night stupidly betting hard tens at craps in the casino. Next to me will be my new best friend, a guy with flesh falling out of his Hard Rock tank top and Camo shorts betting Don't Come

How about from now on we all just stay on topic... I know it shall be hard for some of you but I'm sure we can accomplish it being that we are all adults. We can disagree without personal attacks I promise you we can.

Be the change you want to see.

I will bring some dress shorts and khakis along with polo shirts for the MDR. I will wear khakis if we go to Cagney's one night. What others wear is no concern of mine nor does it affect the quality of my food or my dining experience. I will be on the Jade 12/12 first time on NCL.

Updating-night 2. I saw a few 60+ in full length formals and one man in a tux. Not a lot of men in jackets but some. Still plenty in shorts and everything in between. So anything your son feels comfortable in will most.likely be OK. I think the consensus (not my opinion) is that a collared shirt and slacks and closed toed shoes are the most you will need.

Yeah I could imagine the over 60 crowd would still dress up lol.

There is usually one dining room that requires big-boy pants and decent shirt. Sans ballcaps.

There are some itineraries out of some home ports where the crew just gives up on that requirement, preferring to be non-confrontational or maybe just wanting to get out alive.

New Orleans isn't one of those home ports.

After completing the cruise I wanted to amend my previous post...I saw a lot more people dressed up as the week progressed. I even saw a few in formal wear. The aft dining room doesn't allow shorts. I saw men in jackets but collared shirts and slacks was most common in the dining rooms. At Cagneys there was gentleman in shorts but generally people were dressed nicely.

Ah, dress or not for dinner - wish they could say - please go to your cabin and shower, put on something clean and then come to dinner - who cares what you wear. Just please wash off the layers of the day - how many times did you slather on that sun screen.

Those wearing ball caps at dinner often have not showered, and are covering up a bedhead - ich!

I know you will never see those people again, and they do not matter, but really! Have some pride and at least appear clean and tidy - wear what you want, I do not care!!
