Booking future cruise while onboard

We'll be taking our first Oceania cruise in Jan. and considering another one for next summer. What are the benefits, if any, of booking a future cruise while aboard? thanx

A discount which would vary from 3 to 5% depending on the cruise/cabin booked.

 

Usually 1/2 deposit $750 instead of $1500

 

Sometimes $100 OBC on your current cruise

The downside is the cruise may sell out, your cabin category may no longer be available, the price may increase, a specific room may not be open. You can book now, and get the on board perks once you are on your forthcoming cruise.

There are currently some perks which may end 12/31/15 that you may not get if you book in January. If you book your summer cruise now, you may be able to get onboard savings on that cruise, which could be significant. The only thing you would lose is the $100 OBC for your current cruise.

The 12/31/2015 perks convinced us to book our 2017 cruise.We are sailing this January also and decided not to wait.This will be our 8th cruise on Oceania and have always booked on board until now.
